I went to Egypt for a job interview Cairo ( well 10 th of Ramadan City ) windy and dusty
got met off the plane by an agent no customs/passport control !
same thing when I was working in Morocco Makes you feel Important walking past all the queues like a diplomat

About the only place that was tolerable for me in Egypt was Naama Bay/Sharm El Sheikh. Nice beach, nice restaurants, night clubs, good diving spot, etc.

I would love to go to Damascus. So much history. Maybe one day? If there's anything left

My recommendation before anyone goes to any of these places, is do your research. The World Factbook or CIA.gov is a good site to get on to research places of interest for tourism.

neat. Daniel Boone was a great great grand uncle-ish back on my mother's side. (forget the exact relationship, but he's in there.)

Well, we may be cousins. William Hays married Susannah Boone, Daniels daughter. Hays is a grandfather of mine. We're also cousin to Honest Abe.
