In a move that gives new meaning to the term "Trumped up chargrs", the Prez. has remembered, after 14 months of the Mueller probe. that there were three prior relationships between Trump and Mueller that created conflicts of interest requiring the probe to be called off. The alleged conflicts were: (1) a dispute over fees at Trump National Golf Club; (2) work for a law firm that once represented the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner; and (3) an interview for FBI director a day before being named special counsel.Trump claims 'business relationship' with Mueller I think that Mueller's reputation for integrity will enable him to withstand this latest assault. These charges lack all credibility and by pursing them Trump is digging a hole for himself deeper and deeper on the matter of obstructon of justice
Colbert Predicts Rudy Giuliani's Next Trump Defense: 'Since When Are Crimes Illegal?' HuffPost Ed Mazza, HuffPost July 30, 2018 Colbert Predicts Rudy Giuliani's Next Trump Defense: 'Since When Are Crimes Illegal?'
How many times are they going to change the narrative Now Trump’s lawyer Rudolph Giuliani is saying “Even if Mr. Trump did collude with the Russians, he committed no crime.” ...lol... Sorry Rudy but last time I remember, colluding with a foreign power to usurp and steal the Presidential Election is tantamount to treason against the United States, and subject to imprisonment and punishable by hanging or a firing squad
Technically he's correct there is no crime called collusion, it would be properly termed conspiracy. Twelve Russians have been charged with that conspiracy and the hacking connected to it. One of Trump's campaign mangers, Roger Stone, and at least one Republican congressional candidate were involved. Anyone with any knowledge of this is also implicated. Anyone involved or anyone that knew and approved of the Trump Tower meeting with the Russians is liable for conspiracy whether or not an actual crime was committed. Just conspiring to do it is a crime of itself. That would include Trump Jr., anyone else at the meeting, and anyone who knew of the meeting...including the president. None of the conspirators need know each other, met, or ever talked to each other. So no collusion...just conspiracy to collude.
Trump wants to give another tax cut to the rich. This one would allow investors to subtract the value of inflation from their gains reducing the amount that could be taxed. This would increase the national debt by $100 billion over ten years, further complicate the tax code, encourage fraud through tax shelters, and increase the gap between rich and poor. Drain the swamp.
Trump threatens to close the government over his stupid wall. I thought Mexico was going to pay for it. What happened there?
Trump wants to meet with the Iranians without any preconditions! Fat chance. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo also disagrees saying it would be a bad idea to not have preconditions.
I've heard that there was a YouGov poll which asked - who you trust for accurate information. Among Trump supporters, Trump: 91% Friends & Family 63% Mainstream Media 11%. Now the mainstream media result is not surprising but Trump comes in some 30% point above friends and family, these people trust Trump more than they do their friends and family – now that is Orwellian – all hail Big Brother.
It seems Trump has started attacking the Kock brothers As I speak the metaphorical popcorn is popping in the microwave
And apparently is considering doing this via Treasury without the involvement of Congress, which would be unconstitutional. Robin Hood in reverse!
Judge rules Trump must stop giving psychotropic drugs to migrant children illegally. It appears Trump is now pushing drugs.
^just to clarify, my like is for the judge ruling the practice must be stopped, not that it was going on in the first place
Nine states, twenty-one state attorneys generals, and the District of Columbia are suing the Trump administration in an effort to stop 3D printed guns. After reversing the Obama administration's resistance to allowing the publication of printed instructions Trump's team reached a settlement allowing Defense Distributed to release plans for a single-shot pistol, an AR-15 lower receiver, and a complete Beretta M9 handgun....and award them $40,000.
And the stable genius has now attacked the Kock Brothers saying, "They are a total joke and over rated!" Maybe he likes the money he gets from Russia more than the well known Republican Heavy Hitters?
Bannon attacked them too, saying the Koch brothers need to "shut up get with the program. This may be the biggest monster battle since Aliens vs. Predators or Godzilla vs. King Kong. In all likelhood, this reflects a behind the scenes power struggle among Republican oligarchs, especially the Kochs and the Mercers. I'm bettin' on Godzilla. The three ultra-rich families battling for control of the Republican party
In Trump's mind, it's not a crime if it didn't alter the outcome of the election. He has said on various occasions that he thinks it didn't alter the outcome and has used that claim as an alibi. He twisted the story and claimed Hillary effectively stole 3 million votes in the election. Trump's failed election investigation commission fell apart and never produced any results. Trump made no comment about it and has avoided being in a position to have to comment by not conducting formal, meaningful press conferences at the White House. When approached by Russian officials with an offer of dirt on a presidential candidate that could involve the act of receiving stolen property, or any property, Trump's people should have reported it to the FBI. Instead, Trump's son said he thought the offer was a great idea, a remark like what would be expected of a mafia boss. The act of receiving any property, stolen or not stolen, from a foreign government with the intent to alter an election can be construed as criminal. The act of knowingly receiving stolen property or conspiring to receive it is a crime regardless of whether or not it involved an election or altered the outcome. Trump advocates assert stilted arguments that behavior is not illegal and unethical as long as politicians aren't funneling taxpayer money directly into their personal businesses. That's similar to saying Trump didn't do anything illegal or unethical with a porn star because he covered it up using a shady, underhanded approach of paying her to keep her quiet during an election by using his attorney to initally pay for it and reimbursed him later in a roundabout fashion, lying about it to journalists on Air Force One, and later admitting it to the public. Supposedly nothing is wrong with this type of behavior which Trump, while on a 30-minute, nonstop, pathological rant on Fox where the hosts finally had to cut him off abruptly, tried to belittle as the whole crazy Stormy Daniels thing. Those are the Trump people that the public is supposed to trust at their word of honor that they aren't going to use the White House to do any shady, private deals with leaders of other countries to advance their personal businesses from whIch they haven't divested. Trump or his relatives working at the White House not taking a salary is supposedly sufficient insurance that they can't do anything illegal or unethical related to their businesses or an election.
