dvds are Dio, Black Sabbath, Iron Madien, Queensryke. I took them for collection and memory of ed. I dont have a dvd player otther than laptop. I do however have two vhs player all on one set. two head generic and a 4head sony. sometimes the generic will play dubbed tapes better than the 4head. the 4head plays originals better.

I got a Sony VHS recorder upstairs that works awesome. Downstairs in the Dragons Lair I have the VHS Mitsubishi 4 head.

I have a bunch of movies I only watch on VHS. When Hollywood went and reproduced and remixed all the audio on some of my most prized flicks.....I was pissed.

    Perfect example is The Terminator
On DVD and blu ray all the firearms sound effects are shit after remastered audio. For instance, The police department shoot out sequence with Terminators weapon the Armalite AR-18. Remastered sounds high pitched and pussyish. VHS original movie sound of the AR 18 is deep, throaty and a raging echo effect.

    Love my VHS's
    Tapes n Playa's

Oh, I see another topic you guys have taught me about.

Home movies are good to transfer to DVD, though.

I've still got NASCAR races I recorded in 1997 on VHS. :D the 1998 Brickyard 400, won by Jeff Gordon. The 1999 Daytona 500 won by Jeff Gordon.

They were the marquee races we'd actually get on TV where we lived. Daytona, Talladega and Indianapolis. 3 races a year lol.

I also used to VHS record all Superbowls too.

Does anyone here keep in touch with our old buddy Nox?

He's never said to me specifically where he lives, but I think it might be in the area currently burning to the ground

He may have moved though. I think you're right, but didn't he say he moved at one point? Could be that it was for work or something. I'm not sure on the details, but I think there was something about his dog being a problem for the move. I think he has an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull).
