yeah I miss Nox.

I don't recall where he lived other than I think it's California, and when he changed jobs I thought it was closer to where he lived. Buddy (his pit) had a hard time with warm weather, and he had had a problem with his eye (Buddy, the pit) but it got better...dang I hate to think of him being in the midst of that inferno.

Yeah, there's a "lazy" feeling to it (or maybe I'll just always feel like that on Sundays).

Some of the family owned stores close early. Actually, now that I think about it, banks are closed too and all of that stuff.

It's raining today which amplified the lazy Sunday feeling for me.

 

China must be so cool! I tried to learn Chinese in college. Do you speak Cantonese or Mandarin at all?

 

I can speak Mandarin (not fluent, but getting good)

I heard Cantonese for the first time while I was in Hong Kong and thought "fuck, that's a totally different animal."

Funny story: a few days ago I went to dinner with people from work (it was so the new teachers could get to know us). An American guy said "I've been practicing Cantonese. I wanted to learn it instead of Mandarin, because everyone apparently knows Mandarin." (I guess he was trying to one-up the native population). One of the Chinese teachers said "nobody here speaks or even understands Cantonese" (Chinese have a very "matter of fact" sense of humour. They truly aren't trying to be insulting, but it definitely appears so at first).

 

Glad to notice they have some proper christian values over there too :-D
