And then I was on the last beer of the night.
    (Audience: Awwww)
(Me: S'okay, I still have plenty of tequila if needed)
    (Audience: canned cheering and clapping)

    Beer #3:
    (Alc. 9.1%)
(Neshaminy Creek - Imperial Chocolate Mudbank Milk Stout)

Smells: Chocolate nibs, shells, and lactose velvet beauty. Shortbread body? Espresso notes.

Tastes: Deep, plush dark chocolate nibs and espresso buoyed by a gentle shortbread body. Dreams of oak and vanilla escort the latter notes.

Overalls, shit yeah. This is where it's at. It's just velvety smooth and sweet from the first greetings, with just enough of a bitter turn on the back end to prevent it from being too sweet. Wonderfully balanced.

And, finally, I have a pic to go with the beer!
    mmhmm

    I'm baaAAack!

And for tonight, I have some interesting fare.
Or at least, this first one certainly is.
It's one of them "ancient style" beers.

Did you say stop yammering and get to the beer already?
    Alrighty... you got it, fam!

    Beer #1:
    (Alc. 9.3%)
    (Birra Del Borgo - Etrusca)

Smell: Honeywine and spices take a strong step forward, lofted by a bready body. A hefty, astringent undercurrent carries nigh imperceptible notes of hazelnut.

Taste: Sharp (but well-mannered) farmhouse funk colored with notes of honey. A clay-baked biscuit body lends a hand to hazelnuts, wheat, and spices.

Overall, this is way more drinkable than I expected for both a honeyed brew and this alcohol level. It's tiny effervescent bubbles add a lot to the loveliness of this brew. There are notes here that I'm not sure how to describe, but they're pleasant and keep showing up... from the last moment of a sip, to breathing in through your teeth, even another element when just licking your lips.

Look, just try this fucking beer, ok?

Also, I have no idea what pic to include with this.

No wait, that's a lie... I have a couple ideas.
I just don't want to spend time finding one for this.
Like, I would probably just get some ancient topless statue or something.

Instead, I'm going to get on with leaving my review on Untappd and HIP forums.
By then, I'll probably be heading into tonight's IPA.

If anyone reading this wants to post a pic, please feel free to do so!

[EDIT: D'oh! I should check my copy/paste before hitting "Post Reply". This was obviously originally posted on a different forum, "leaving my review on Untappd and HIP forums", lol.)

    So.
    Here I am.
    Drinking my second beer.

And there you are, wondering what it is and if it's any good.

Lucky for you, I've got a review all cued up!

    Beer #2:
    (Alc. 8%)
    (Full Pint - Living Color)

Smells: Grapefruit, peach, and pineapple strike me first. Then sweet wheat carries the biscuity body over a spirit of pine.

Tastes: Grapefruit pith with a touch of peach. Bitter hops lead a biscuity body; wheat, pine and spices march forward in the background.

Overalls, it's not bad for a dry, bitter IPA... but probably suffers from coming directly after a brew with MUCH lower IBUs. I find myself wishing it had been more impressive, while acknowledging it's probably not missing the mark it aimed for. As I drink through this glass, it's tasting more and more like it probably should though.
(I ended up giving it 3.75/5 on Untappd.)

Again, I don't know.. not bothering with a pic for this one either.
(The first thing I think of is J-Lo from her Fly Girl days on In Living Color, lol.)

And then there was none... or one.
Depends on how you look at it.

Point is, here we are on...
    Beer #3:

    (Alc. 11.1%)
    (Weyerbacher - 23)

Smellin: Cascara coffee, coffee grinds and a distant touch of caramel. Hints of cocoa weave through the slightly bready body, heading out with a wink of vanilla.

Tastin: Lovely progression. Coffee > coffee/cascara > cocoa > faint bready body > wink of vanilla > smoky outro. Some overlapping, too.

Overallin, this is my wheelhouse, so I love it. But, it's also smooth and lovely and... weird, because it's a "golden stout". The alcohol does start to stand out further and further, the more you drink... but that's ok.

And for the final brew of the night, I just GOTTA find some kind of pic to post with it!
    Let's see...
Can't post the bottomless girl from the other forum.
    Maybe... hmm...
yeah... this is a good one:

Brewery 85 Gone Fishin Helles lager

I'm not fishing, but it does seem like the perfect lager for a day of fishing.

    So, yeah, I'm back.
But, probably no review this weekend.

We caught a bug at the end of our vacation, so probably not a great idea to drink.
But don't worry, I will as soon as I can.

Go to the can release at burley oak. Only went on the promise of some tree house in trade on my way back.
Get there about a half hour before opening and get carded. Been there over 30 times this is the first time ever being carded. So yeah I misplaced my licence last week and have yet to renew it being in nj most of the weekdays. I tell him I have an expired licence in my car...nope needs to be valid he says. I search my car. Nope. Found another expired one. Bring both and figure if he says anything I will say oh here is my updated one. I know it won't work but I drove 4 hours and tree house is on the line. Dude looks at it says this is fake. I say nah. He says this is fake I say nah it's real it's real. Gives me a band with number 343. 3 hours later I get to the table with barely enough jreams left over and have no problem getting everything I wanted and the trade for tree house went on perfectly. After that I hung out with a friend who was working the jeep jam nearby. Left there and went to OC brewery. New owners and the place greatly improved. Shit selection though...unless all you like are ipa's or other brewers beers.
It was a pretty good weekend. Work should suck tomorrow.

    I don't fucking get it.

What is the deal with all these microbreweries selling beer flavored mustard and beer flavored soap?

I was at the Sierra Nevada brewery in NorCal, and they sold this stuff in the gifts shop. And the mustard and soap didn't even taste CLOSE to the beers they make. So what's the deal?

Pale ale scented candles don't smell like pale ale.

I like microbrews, but dot fall victim to this scam!

Sierra Nevada is NOT microbrew my friend.

It has been a long time since Sierra Nevada was even slightly microbrew.

Nevertheless, I get your point. There is a lot of money to be made in beer. Not only in the product itself, but a lot of the gimmickry that goes along with it.

    This was actually good, though.

You're right. I stand corrected. Sierra Nevada is huge.

If the cheese from Heady Topper is good, buy it for the cheese, not for the beer label. BTW that Cheddy Topper didn't taste like beer, did it?
