Probably explains my fondness of that part with Beorn in the Hobbit.

Wish I knew more people who smoked in town. You could make a killing just flipping the dispensary ounces for twice the price.

the coop we are getting looks like this, but slightly bigger.

we are only allowed 6 hens, so im not too worried. the mucking will be my job anyway. once we get it i will figure out if we should add wheels, or just do a sturdy handle on each end, its supposed to be about 100 lbs. for the fall/ winter we will be keeping it up closer to the house. and we have a compost thermometer, so we should be able to manage a hot compost pile/ several to get it broken down and ready a bit faster. i will have a lot of woodchips to add as browns, and they need the high nitrogen/ ammonia to break down faster. right now hubby is getting mash/ hops from a friendly bar to add to our compost. it gets stinky fast. and i NEED to be making as much compost as possible because of how desperately my soil needs organic material.
we might be starting with birds that are already laying, but im not sure yet. im looking into incubators too, if i want to do quail it seems like thats the way to do it/ keep them replacing themselves.

im a crazy person. but im excited to have 6 more reasons not to leave the house. one of these days im going to have to do a tour of the yard so you can see all the crap im always blathering on about. i should get a gopro, are they cheap yet?

I'm just popping in here real quick to say I LOVE THIS!!!!

And no, you are not crazy to be excited for more reasons not to leave the house. If I could I would have EVERYTHING delivered to me, and never go...which if you'd known me in my past, that is actually astounding. lol For years after I moved here, the second my son was in bed and asleep, I was outta here. When he got in later middle school and high school, I stayed here ALL the time though. lol

I just can't get over how cool this is. :)

I've had them all season, not in mass though. You see that when they are migrating back southwest. Odd thing is some of them showed up early, laid eggs, eggs hatched etc. First emerging adult I saw was end of June. Others at a normal time, and some late. I can still go out and find caterpillars, watched a new adult today on some flowers out front...

Shyt ton of other species too...

They are VERY cool Deidre, when I heard about them being in distress along with our bees, I dedicated a spot in my veggie garden and planted an assortment of perennial flowers that pollinators love, especially milkwood. They actually look beautiful and help the little guys. I help them, they help me...lol

that is a cool coop indeed....I cant have an un anchored coop on account the wind but generally people move them around so the poop is evenly distributed over the lawn.....lol they will kill all of it instead of just that square....kidding but be careful....little bitches destroyed my unfenced cucumber patch......they like cucumbers

I love those brother....I bought a 100 mg pattie last night and the fucker knocked me on my ass....could not taste any dope in it on account it was minty

but I did settle on cups because they use butter and the mints do not
