they wanted 20 bucks to dump a mattress a boarder left here so I burned off the stuffing and outer parts and tossed the steel frame free into the metal bin...tomorrow night I burn the box spring

Man.... that really sucks. I know how you feel. We had to let our 8 year old shepherd dog put to sleep end of februari this year. He couldn't use his hind legs anymore one evening and was in a lot of pain in his lower back. We made the decision next day Spoil yours in his last few days!

He's gone downhill overnight, trouble breathing and clearly uncomfortable, so I'm taking him in this afternoon to be euthanized. I guess it makes sense that it happens quickly with a little 10lbs dog, but I had hoped that we had more time.

Yeah, here it went at least as quick and of course it was real shitty and sad but soon came the realisation that keeping him longer around might feel better for us, but its a blessing for the dog itself... Ours suffered for max. 24 hours with his acute hernia.

 

Sorry Eggs...that's hard to go through. I was hoping you all had some more time with him.
