My big camping bag is good like it's big probably too big for what I wanted but it fits all my tent and 2 sheets, 2 blankets and 2 pillows easy.

Now we are trying to score some Mdma for the camp. I'm sure we'll be able to buy the gear there but I'd rather deal a friend some business.

My Jack, the insane border collie, had basically the same thing to happen except he was 11...his back legs went out on a Thursday..I found a wonderful vet that came and euthanized him here on Monday.

Jack was able, with significant trouble, to get up a few times during that weekend...but I'd already made the decision and over the weekend found a fine vet that did that service when necessary at the home. That was the only thing I could do and still live with myself. I've dreamed of my Jack...he's waiting for me when its time.

@eggsprog I'm just so very sorry y'all had to go through this so quickly...I know you thought there would be more time but no doubt, that wee fella knew y'all loved him greatly. Don't be surprised if you and/or your wife dream of him, as he comes to let you know he is ok and waiting at the Bridge.

Dang I haven't been on all day and wasn't on but a minute or 2 Monday. Dang...there was some sad stuff I read tonight/just now.

@Tyrsonswood I feel like Fae (@Faelixx ) that you were definitely meant to be there to somehow provide physical and emotional comfort for that crow. I've been watching crows for years...and sometimes feel like they've been watching me, too. (and that's fine with me) Without a doubt they are so smart...he had to know you were the one to comfort him and send him off with dignity.

I have SO MUCH to do here at this house, it is unreal. Living with the messiest person in the world doesn't help a lot. She is like a 2 yr old that can do anything they want, and it makes NO DIFFERENCE whatever you say. To hear her say "I'll clean it up" is the worse thing in the world to hear!!! I IMMEDIATELY have to jump into action because it will be 1000 times worse if she starts in on whatever. I'm fairly certain Mama hasn't cleaned up anything (as in a spill or mess that she has made) since I was a child.

    Dear God.

I spend hours at the bank with Mama Monday fixing some stuff. We had to have somehow (NOT BY LUCK - NO!!!) gotten the dang slowest person in that bank to deal with. I ate about 10 or 15 soft peppermint candies...and Mama had one. She was SO LOUD with her's that I decided then that if she ever ever finished with that one, there was no way in heaven or hell I was giving her another one while I was feet from her in that bank. They probably heard her rolling it around her mouth and crunching it out in the parking lot. :grimacing: My Lord.

Your mum would be good with a lolly pop then, I can't do that with candy I'm chewing as soon as I can even if I try and make it last I can't do it. Chomp. Chomp. I admire people that can savour a lolly, not my heathen barbaric Neanderthal approach.

Lynn, I'm sorry about Jack! I'm glad he came to you in dream time to let you know that he's okay.

He is 92 now, that story is 2011, so does that mean he was out surfing at 84 yrs old?

The way he looks at 92, it might be possible

Yeah thats something that has stuck with me ever since my dad died, I was only 8 but hearing "i'm sorry" over and over felt hollow after a while. I know people mean well and it is hard to know what to say, but I do like the example you used where the guy expressed empathy rather than sympathy

But to add to that i've found over the years that grieving people arent going to ask for help so telling them you'll be there if they need anything can be a bit hollow too. Sometimes you just have to show up, bring a meal or offer to take their kids shopping for funeral clothes or clean their house, whatever the situation may warrant
