What more do you honestly think they would have found?

For one: it would at least be more conclusive for the losing party and their supporters. If it isn't even properly looked into... no wonder your country's society gets (is) polarized

I followed this a bit and it didn't seem to be about that the woman in a case like this should automatically be believed at all. It is maybe how a certain side tries to portray it.

Going by this event alone, nothing it seems.

Not everyone who is assaulted is in the state of mind to file a report after it happens

I'm a big fan of rational thought, actually. I'm rational enough to know the difference between being tried in criminal court and being subject to character witnesses in a job interview for judgeship, even!
Innocent before proven guilty doesnt apply here and no one is entitled to a certain job.

Also I just want to reiterate here that false rape accusations are really rare. I know that doesnt matter to some and the man is always to be believed over the woman, but I personally think it matters.

I don't like the dude either, but he has the right to not answer potentially self-incriminating questions... and yeah, he's a douche, his demeanor isn't that great, but whatever. Guy is obviously qualified to be a SC judge based on his credentials.

If we only go by his credentials he seems qualified yes. But we have more to go on now. Like how he handled and answered critical questions for instance. Seems clear other people (no not implying it should be someone with an opposite political affiliation or something :p ;)) are better suited to fill such an important position.

They're actually not, in my experience. I've taken 17 sexual assault reports in the past year and a half. Of those, only 6 turned out to be legitimate sexual assaults. Of the remaining, 10 were completely unfounded and the last one didn't have enough evidence to support it.

I'm not sure where people get the "reality rare" conclusion because, in the field, false accusations are very common.

To start with the closet thing to the truth that can be determined.
Go back and see who the FBI didn't interview.

As it is they didn't really investigate much at all.

There are no qualifications for being a SC justice outlined by the Constitution. They don't even have to be a United States citizen or have a law degree....or any degree at all for that matter.

On Wednesday Brett Kavanaugh will receive two cases. One pertains to double jeopardy, as in the case of New York prosecuting Trump for tax fraud and campaign law violations after he pardons himself and Manafort. The second case is about money laundering and tax fraud. Kavanaugh is to defend Trump from criminal charges three days into the job.

Rape and domestic abuse runs high among cops. I learned that at Colorado State University, in the criminal justice program.

Your experience may not be the norm.
And so on, there are many more studies, the vast majority support the contention that false reports are rare.

What has that to do with this thread or his post about his experiences with (false) sexual assault accusations?

    Thinking on this some more:
    1. Do the accounts of those who were not interviewed substantiate the claims of the accusers or the responses of those who were interviewed?
    2. Do the accounts of those who were not interviewed substantiate the claims that Kavaneaugh perjured himself?
    3. Would an interview by trained FBI agents have resulted in Kavanaugh perjuring himself, or presenting contradictory statements?
    4. Would an interview by trained FBI agents have resulted in Ford perjuring herself, or presenting contradictory statements?
    5. Are there others who can substantiate, or disprove the claims of sexual abuse and perjury by Kavanaugh?
    6. Is it possible new leads could have been unearthed and followed, supporting the accusations or not....if not for the time constraint?
    7. Could the FBI's professional investigators found discrepancies in either Ford's or Kavanaugh's testimony that the untrained Senate members would not have found in their 5 minute question periods.....had the FBI been allowed to interview Ford or Kavanaugh?
    8. Could the FBI have uncovered supporting or disproving evidence such as personal, public, medical, etc. records? (Remember Ford offered supporting documents that the FBI did not look at).

    Additional questions:
    1. Why was the FBI not permitted to form a conclusion?
    2. Why was the FBI not permitted to issue subpoenas?
    3. Why are the results of the limited investigation not being made public?

In cases where employers were against workers--he always sided with with the employers and against the NLRB/employees. So stated NPR this morning. I haven't checked the cases yet, but I will. I suppose citizens can look forward to many years of right-wing chickenshit tricks. I wonder why those southern states keep electing 75--80 year old fossils. I reckon it's because they want to ---and do-- live in a 40s, 50s world and those (many, many) in the south love it.
