Unfortunately some of the education they get is how to apply for assistance when the baby's on the way. Too little too late. When I was in high school there were only 5 girls who got pregnant (and were proud to show it). I can only wonder how things worked out for them. I heard once that all of the people on the planet would fit into the Grand Canyon. I don't know if that meant stacked upon each other, but it does present an interesting perspective about population. I think one of our biggest problems is waste. We consume more resources than we need because we waste so much.
World Population Clock: 7.7 Billion People (2018) - Worldometers Every time I look at it I remember we're fucked.
It's nice that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is turning a bunch of old conservative straight dudes onto fashion. I've never seen such an interest in fashion from that particular demographic before!
I bet he'll get a huge crowd in the courtroom after Adam Schiff gets him investigated and charged with all sorts of crimes.
If Planned Parenthood can't make a buck on their own, the business model is seriously flawed. Why should taxpayers bail them out? Are they SO valuable?
This is a popular insult among Trump voters. Look at how people react to our rational democracy with violence. They can not handle the real world. So where does the second amendment ( more important than any other amendment to Cons) come into it or it's ideas which are that you can and should use violence to protect yourself? It is the right thing to do. I don't support violence but it's interesting to me. I mean Obama received many death threads and the talk of using guns to stop his Muslim ways did come at the time. The same people who now expect people to silently accept literal Nazism with silence are those who threatened to use the guns. Do they not see the hypocrisy? These Americans play by the same rules as you. And thanks to the gun laws you support they can also get a gun anytime they want. A tool which has no purpose but to kill. As long as you support the second amendment you have zero room to talk about threats of violence against you. Live by the sword die by the sword. If you want more peaceful debate you should start with yourself in ending a culture in America that says violence is a solution.
Is this a rhetorical question? I thought you were yammering about teenagers having babies and not being educated early enough about the consequences of having unprotected sex. Planned Parenthood tries to address that, and isn't in "business" to "make a buck". So taxpayers who complain about poor people having too many babies might want to "bail them out". That is, if they really care about the problem and don't simply want to use the issue as something to spout off about.
Planned Parenthood is a non profit organization and has been in existence since 1916. It has received Title X funds since 1970 by the decision of a bipartisan agreement signed into law by Republican President Richard Nixon. In 2014 the government supplied about 1/3rd of its revenue. They have been attacked more than 300 times by bombs, arson, gunfire, and chemicals. One attack in 2015 resulted in a 5 hour gun battle. 34,000 people have been arrested for disturbances at their clinics, 655 anthrax threat letters have been received, and they have received 383 death threats, 42 naming the victims. Four doctors have been murdered, 2 employees, 1 security guard, 2 civilians, and 1 police officer. Numerous people have been attacked, some barely escaping death. There have been 17 attempted murders, 153 incidents of assault or battery, 373 invasions, 41 bombings, and 3 kidnappings. Since 1982 they have been under continued attack by The Army of God, a terrorist organization responsible for destroying property, kidnapping, murder and attempted murder. The American Coalition of Life Activists has promoted violence against them by posting wanted posters of clinic doctors including names, home addresses, telephone numbers, and other personal information. Names of those already killed or attacked are highlighted. One doctor on the list was shot in the head and killed at his worship service. So it appears they need a little help. But I'm not just talking about Planned Parenthood per se. I'm talking about family planning. Family planning can take place in the home, at the high school level, in colleges, hospitals, pharmacies, at work, at health clinics, through marketing and promotion, and in the doctor's office.
Brothers and Sisters, the Republicans have found a new and illegal way to commit election fraud. They can not win elections without cheating. Now a Republican is being denied state certification after he got caught in North Carolina. It appears the Republicans had got their hands on the voter list and mailed fake absentee ballots after having filled them out themselves. The real people who did not want to vote were not told that Republicans had taken it upon themselves to VOTE REPUBLICAN on their behalf. It's a real dirty trick and just might be how Texas went for Teddy Cruzie!
Are Democrats on the right track? Well Republican David Valadao, just conceded the race in California, giving Democrats a net gain of 40 seats in the House of representatives. A net gain of 40 seats is historic.
And the first thing they do is support Nancy Pelosi as the next Speaker of The House. So no, the Democrats are not back on track.
Hotwater The problem is that that in the 2010 midterms the Republicans got LESS votes than the Demcrats did in 2018 BUT got 63 seats. * Because Republican-controlled state legislatures have redraw congressional districts to favour the party in what right wing architects dubbed as Redmap, short for the Redistricting Majority Project. So in many places at a national and local level there is no democracy it’s been outlawed. So that in Pennsylvania, Michigan and North Carolina voters chose a Democrat to represent them in the state’s House of Representatives BUT in all three states, Republicans maintained majority control over the chamber despite winning only a minority of votes. In Pennsylvania, Democratic candidates won 54 percent of the statewide House popular vote but walked away with just 45 percent, or 92 seats, of the 203-seat state legislature In 2018, Michigan and North Carolina saw a six percentage-point gap between Democrats’ share of the popular vote, and the share of state House seats they won. Michigan Democrats won 200,000 more votes state wide than Republicans but got only 52 out of the 110 seats and in North Carolina Democrats prevailed in the popular vote by 79,000 votes but won 54 out of 120 seats. I find it hilarious (and tragic) that for years right wingers have been screaming at me about one made up conspiracy after another involving left wingers undermining US democracy and bring about a one party state when all along there was a real life right wing conspiracy to do just that. Oh and before some right winger says it I know that on a smaller scale the Democrats have done their own gerrymandering, but the thing is I’m just as annoyed about that as in anyone else who does it, the thing is that right wingers don’t seem to care about it happening or feel so entitled to power that they support it.
I say the Democrats are well on the way. What needs to be done immediately is a total counter-attack by the Democrats in Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, and North Dakota, against the abusive tactics of the Republicans. In Indiana we need to study all that the Republicans had done in the last several decades to understand how they turned the state legislature into a near 100% Republican establishment.
