Ice dams on the roof after a heavy snowfall

 

Never Heard Of "Ice Dams" Till Now.....Did The Usual Google Images......They Seem To Be A Prob

On Slate And Tiled Roofs......I'm Sure On A Single Sheet Of Steel Roof There Would Not

Be A Problem......

As the snow and ice accumulates it backs up under the roof shingles, melts, then leaks into the house

 

It's usually a Sunday chore of mine to get in the roof with a broom.. Well I'm not sure what it is really, it's like a rake but much less teeth but they're big like you would rake up the earth with it. I just use one of them. I don't like getting up on the roof much, it's scary.

 

My first high school gf and I used to sneak into this abandoned house across the street at night and climb up on the roof to watch the stars...and stuff.

 

Ice dams can get under sheet metal roofing and bend the edges up. In that case the whole panel needs to be replaced instead of just the edge tiles or shingles... Much more expensive damage with sheet metal.

just saw something weird on here. a thread pop up, and when i replied to it, was told i didn't have access to do so.
totally weird about someone having someone in prison and wanted some kind of spray.
as soon as i clicked on something else after that it totally disappeared.

 

i'm guessing some kind of redirect was involved and it was actually on some sight i didn't have access to that wasn't this one.

There's a certain word for it though that I've heard and sounds like it had definitely had 'king' at the end of it. I know camels hock and spit so it could be hocking.
