I think that the more attention you bring something, the more attention it gets--positive or negative. "No press is bad press" type of thing. I do wonder what their intention was here.
^ It's said in marketing that the best attention is often negative attention. I can see why in this instance
I got to thinking, what if the ad had been aimed at African-Americans? Or Muslims? "We can do better..." and all that. OK to lump all men together though.
Yeah I think I had a little flashback to my conservative, damn near MRA days. I shouldn’t have been flip about it.
^thats just it though, sales have likely declined in the last few years because a clean shaven face isnt in fashion anymore So they figured they would direct their marketing towards women instead, in hopes they would convince their men to shave their beards off Of course completely underestimating the level of attraction women feel towards facial hair Edit (my arrow is meant to be pointing at the bearded man's post)
Gotcha--wasn't quite picking up on the example. I don't know that those two things are exactly comparible, but I see what you are saying.
Exactly. Or what if they went after women? Something like "Sorry chicks, but pink razors cost too much, time to man up"!!!!
