And considering the “build the wall” comment isn’t really why he got involved to begin with, I don’t see why it’s relevant to begin with. The guy made a judgment call. Maybe he was right and maybe he was wrong,I don’t think this makes him a shitty person deserving to be smeared by people who know virtually nothing about him.

Oh and by the way, the same people feigning outrage over this kids treatment (and he shouldn’t be getting this treatment) were more than happy to accept it when it was a kid from a school shooting who had the misfortune of having a differing point of view. Such blatant hypocrisy.

Some of us weren't startled at all.

He made that claim in his own statement as a reason. Along with the whites were about to attack the blacks.

There I was, "stepping between the hunted and the prey" is pretty close to how he said IIRC.

I meant I was started upon realizing how quickly I jumped to conclusions, not upon realizing what actually happened.

Self reflection, and all that jazz. Try it sometime ;)

  6. A "build the wall" chant seems misplaced when used toward native Americans or black Americans or any Americans for that matter. Although the "go back to Europe" and "incest babies" chanting seemed to come in rather clearly on a couple of the videos. Racism sucks in any direction folks. Let's consider who we are willing to give a pass on this.

I am inclined to think this was inflated by the press to gaslight us all away from the recent revelations regarding the shutdown. Last week was very embarrassing for democrats and the press.

He was recounting his tale, he was concerned about violence. Obviously chanting isn’t violence.

Im willing to stipulate it’s being inflated by the press.

David Hogg put himself in the public eye.

This kid last weekend literally stood there and did nothing.

If this was some right wing stunt, the left took it hook line and sinker.

Wear MAGA hats, stand there and know them dumbasses will attack.

When all the left has to do is leave them alone.

    What a concept.

    Mind blown.

  10. Which is fueling the social media nonsense. The press misrepresented this whole affair and really brought out the crazies. Even Cathy Griffin cashed in on it. And one asshole says the kids should be fed into a chipped, hat first. Rather horrible visuals in so many of these tweets.

I wonder if any of these people realize that this shit is just plain rude as well as threatening. And all this "doxing" talk is obviously designed to drive fear into the kids while directing violent assholes to their homes. It happened to Tucker Carlson's wife while she was home alone. A whole mob formed in front of her house chanting violent shit.

But I'm sure they didn't mean it. It was just some clean fun and games. Nobody really wants to see republicans and conservatives dragged from their homes and assaulted. Only a psychopath would applaud this shit.

Actually, a more interesting angle to this story is the Black Hebrew Israelites that appear to have started the whole thing. Nick Sandmann, the kid who was face to face with the Native American dude, says, "They called us 'racists,' 'bigots,' 'white crackers,' 'faggots' and 'incest kids.' They also taunted an African-American student from my school by telling him that we would 'harvest his organs.'" The Southern Poverty Law Center lists them as a hate group that is becoming more militant. And I doubt they wear MAGA hats.

He put himself in the public eye because he had classmates blown away. He was still just a kid and didn’t deserve to be shit on by people who are, ostensibly, adults.

But again, your issue here is that this man stood up to people you agree with politically, so you call him a dumbass and attack his character. As David Hogg’s character was attacked, as well as anyone you disagree with, evidently.

It should be noted that the Native American man who got involved (I forget his name) referred to them as being akin to the Westboro Baptist Church. He’s no fan of them.

I've never called David Hogg anything at all. I didn't keep up with that whole controversy.

I just remember that before that incident he was turned down 4 colleges, and since his efforts, he's been accepted into Harvard.

I guess someone considers his efforts to be substantial enough to set aside any previous rejections.

I'm sure he will be a treasure for Harvard.

That was my first impression of the Black Hebrew ..

Meet one at a bus stop.. Called himself / Shakazuluzigzagzig.. Never forget that name for sure.. man was rambling on about Egypt and Moses. But he wasnt bothering me. He was writing something in chalk the last I remember .. Maybe not radicalized at the time, but he was out there..

Kinda sounds like you kept up with it, what with knowing his college rejections and all that. Kinda weird you even bring that up.

I can’t imagine a person who joins a group like that is all there. Interesting you bumped into one of these guys. I hadn’t heard of them until today.

Yeah it made the national news. I do watch the news on more than one occasion. NBC I believe. I hope that isn't some right wing source of propoganda that you will criticize now.

Good for Hogg. He scored from his efforts pretty good. But other than that time, I saw what the national news offered us about him. And it wasn't Fox.

No. NBC doesn’t need to spread right wing propaganda when you’re more than happy to do it for free.
