  1. It wasn't her partner. It was a "friend." But he was just full of petty manipulative insults. Maybe arrogant is the word.

So what kind of saw did you end up buying?

You kind of left yourself a nice follow-up gift idea too. You can always buy some safety gear, sharpening tools, etc. for another occasion in the future.

I don't like the idea of having to sharpen every tooth on chainsaw so I'm hoping the chains are inexpensive so I can just buy another one. :p

Chains are about $20-$35 depending on the size of chain and length. A round file is about $2 and will sharpen a chain a good number of times once you get the hang of it.

Well how long does it take to sharpen a blade? I only have two small saws, one is petrol and I do not use it because I can't stand the sound and the other is electric and only goes when I ask it to with the trigger. :) it is lithium battery and I really like it but it isn't a big chains maybe from like my elbow to my wrist, touch longer maybe.

That's because they stretch as they get hot. You have an adjusting screw to tighten or loosen the chain. Every single chain you put on new will stretch in a matter of a few minutes or less. Then it's loose. You tighten it up to run it properly. No problem there at all. But when you go to replace it with a new chain the adjustment is set for a used chain. Dial the screw back, put on the new chain, run it for a minute and adjust as needed. Totally normal process. We do it on every single chain we use.

There is a technique that isn't hard but if you don't do it enough to get good at it, you might just be better off paying a few bucks to let the saw shop sharpen them for you. I've done it a million times and I can sharpen a chain on a 14 inch bar in about 2 minutes or less with a hand file. But that isn't normal. That's pretty fast. My guys are much slower than I am and they also do it for a living.

The only time I use a chainsaw is after a severe storm to cut up large limbs, or when I give my best Leatherface impression. [IMG]

The trick is to make sure you get the angles the same on all of the teeth. Sometimes there will be a small guide line towards the rear of the top of the tooth. Use that to line up your file and try to get every tooth the same. The actual angle you use isn't quite as important as making sure they are all the same. Otherwise certain teeth will cut and pull differently and it messes up the cutting process. And don't file back and forth. Push the file away from you and then pull it off the tooth, back up and repeat. Don't pull the file towards you on the tooth.

I read reviews for the poulan and ended up getting him one of those. It had all positive reviews and the 18 inch was the same price as the 16 inch I was looking at. I just hope it's as good as the reviews say it is. He said he can't wait to test it out. If it's a piece of crap I will be returning it. It's not a stihl or husqvarna but for simple yard work it should do the trick.

It all started waking up Thursday morning and saw text messages from 2 ladies wishing me a Happy Valentine's Day and other sweet thoughts.

Then walked to the mailbox and received Valentine's Day cards from 2 other ladies.

Went to work and got a surprise Valentine's hug from a lady co-worker

I was given a Valentine's flower from another lady

My Valentine's poem was well received by a lady I handed it to. (Almost brought her to tears)

The Valentine's poem I mailed won't be opened and read until my special lady friend gets back from out of town, and I know she'll luv it when she reads it.

A Valentine's gift that I sent to a special lady via FEDEX was recieved on time at her doorstep. She was very happy receiving it.
