I don't judge a dog by its breed but how the dogs acts. I love mutts. Dogs are loyal and can sense things other humans do.

 

German shepherd of course. No contest

 

We had a border collie, German shepherd cross for 17 years, he was a lovely dog and really intelligent. When he had nothing to chase or round up in London, he spent his time chasing and retrieving our cat. They were the greatest of friends and in winter they slept in the same basket.

 

When Pepper looks your way it is almost like he wants to say, "Can't you make Captain go away?"

 

Cross breeds are mostly more even tempered and less likely to get sick.

 

I only had mutts, except the last one which was a german shepherd. He died too early due to inherendary breed weaknesses One of the mutts became 14 years old despite being an inbred mongrel. The other mutt was both her mum and half sis (we had a very naughty neighbouring border collie)

 

Best travel bud I had was a female German Shepherd. I raised her when she was not much bigger than a cantaloupe. The illegal who was selling them had the pedigree. Mom was a pure white gs, and dad was a standard. So she had white hair interspersed across her back, a stark white chest, and white up the bottom part of the muzzle. Best looking shepherd I ever saw. So smart I'll tell a story later.
