Tranceport is one of the best mix albums ever imo but I've found Oakenfold's albums with his own songs inconsistent. I guess the couple I heard were closer to the Big Beat genre.

I've seen him twice, once at Cochella in the Mid 00's where he was spinning primarily his Big Beat stuff as the sun was going down and then a couple years ago as closer at Dreamstate, which is an annual trance festival in Southern California. Great live both times!

Oakenfold was a-fucking-mazing. Dave Ralph (Tranceport 2) was there as well. The night was full of trance, though I didn't see Ralph spin because I left at... I don't know what time it was. Oakie didn't go on until 12:30 AM or 1:00 AM and I left sometime after. He played this track from Tranceport.

It was one of the highlights of the evening, but he also played some song I knew from Sirius XM satellite radio BPM channel in my car. It was crazy. His mixing was awesome in so far as filter sweeps or whatever it's called when the dj has the cutoff frequency influencing the track's highs & lows.

Great post! So glad that someone else listens to trance besides myself and @guerillabedlam.

I figured it out... my memories all these years haven't faded. The trance in me is still functional. The show was

Electric Circus (also known as EC) was a Canadian live dance music television programthat aired on MuchMusic and Citytv from September 16, 1988 to December 12, 2003. The name originated from a nightclub that once existed at Citytv's first studio at 99 Queen Street East in Toronto

Juliette Powell (1996–2000) EC hostess- now a media entrepreneur. Juliette was the stunning former Miss Canada winner.

Thanks for the YouTube soul! I played it while I wrote out this post....

Now I'm going to play all of Tranceport while I make a King Diamond breakfast....

Edit: found it and some more favs....but I got a whole lot more......

You're on a little trip? Was the Oakenfold show the main reason? Or those awards :p (i assume not). Or just the location/being away for awhile
