Boo. I went for the master break. Snookered myself on the 8.

I can only see one way out of this and it's not easy and that's to come off the far rail, back up between the gap and hit the 8 on the perfect angle to send it to the left corner.

The 3 yellow cluster is very important in this frame as basically none of that is helpful to my opponent as none of it goes anywhere. If I nick the side of the 8 to make a fair shot, the 8 will break up the cluster. If I come off the top rail the 8 will still break up the cluster.

My only other out is to move the cue ball back up to the top right pocket and foul giving away 2 shots because I can't see them potting anything their ffirst visit but they then have a chance to break that cluster out for them.

Im going to go with the miracle ball.

I hit the 8 but not the right angle. Worked out safe as the cue ball found a rail to hide on. :p

I think I just played myself into some form here so gonna get off the table for a while. Not going to overdo it and I'm extremely sore. I will see y'all in the bath shortly.

i'm not giving advice, since mine wouldn't be worth a dam if i did. what i'd do, and i'm guessing it would be a dumb thing, but its all i would be able to think of to do, would be to waste a shot knocking the 8 further, as far as possible, from the cluster. once upon a time, 50 or 60 years ago, i knew something about how to play that game, but its been that long since i've even thought about it.

Its 8 Ball, but casino balls instead of bigs/smalls they're just reds and yellows. I much prefer reds and yellows, I used to think they were a lot harder to aim on but now I got to solids and stripes and there's just too much going on there it's too busy, I find it easier to aims at solid colors.

I have a snooker set for my sized table but it's a bit dorky lol, just too small.

Yeah. I've never played on a snooker table. I've stood near one though. There's a Scottish club in town that has two snooker tables and I've been meaning to book one out for an hour just to practice on.

Tbh I don't think my eyesite is near good enough to play snooker. I can get away with it on a half sized table like we play 8 Ball on but I'm sure about a full sized table.

These are like mine, Aramiths. It's standard in Europe I think, in fact if we have to play on bigs/smalls l/solids/stripes the match is deemed to be illegitimate.

Yes testing out my cue skills is also a reason I don't want to play snooker. :p our regulation tables are 7x4 which is what my table is. Our balls are slightly smaller too, than the American balls. And our pockets are different to American pockets which tend to be more like a 9 ball table cut pockets. You just can't play 9 ball the way you're supposed to on our tables. 9 ball is all about cheating the pockets to create angles for cue ball control, you can't cheat the pockets anywhere close to what's needed on our tables.

My pool cue is one great big ass mammoth tusk. :p

    Not really. :D

My new cue should be getting made in the next couple of months. I've paid my deposit, I just need to measure mine, weigh it, and then send him the dimensions. I want it roughly 1" longer and a fraction heavier. I want the same taper across the length and a 9mm tip. :)

Its getting made from ash and Cugee wood I believe which is imported from North Australia. Apparently for a cue it is really solid and hard, it comes out slightly red though which I'll have to get used to. It's my first personally made cue. Well, being made. Hehe.

Speaking of snooker, the snooker world championship is about to start. We are into the semi finals now. Best of 33 frames. I'm going for Garry Wilson. I've been watching it for over a week now, I love it.

I get bored watching 9 ball, they do an awesome safety snooker and then the next guy just jump cues everything.... Fuck outta here with your jump shot shit.:sweatsmile:

What I find interesting this snooker is just how many mistakes the players are making. It just makes me feel better for being amateur. :p cause I can armchair coach and say pffff I'd have made that heh.

Mistakes in decisions or execution? Or both?
