I'm looking forward to this weekend.

I'm hoping to MDMA Friday night and then my lil sister is coming to visit for 5 days. :) so excited to see her even though I'm going to Australia in June to see my family, it's special when they come back home to see me. :)

Remember the telecoms insisting they were running out of bandwidth? We had one of their idiot engineers complain about it at the largest physics website online, and I had to point out to the guy that its impossible to run out of bandwidth. The sad truth is the telecoms are still stringing everyone along with whatever crappy technology they can produce, because they are waiting for the real deal to become cheaper, and even fooling their own idiot engineers into believing their mountain of crap.

Already we have the technology to increase fiberoptic capacity by a million fold, and the technology to wire everyone's houses for 2gb/s internet (4, 8K movies simultaneously) using nothing more than infrared lightbulbs that shine right through walls. The telecoms are waiting for it be perfected and come down in price because, once internet speeds are no longer an issue, the assholes will take all their money and go elsewhere.

There are so many releases in the Terminator franchise that there are bound to be some rehashed elements, particularly if they aim to maintain a contigous storyline.

I hope they don't unapologetically rip the script and cater to sociopolitical narratives like newer Star Wars.

I feel like Terminator movies, for the most part, have generally deviated from that type of stuff. In doing so, sometimes alienating their own fan base. :grinning:

Movie franchises these days just go with what's cool and what's cool for some reason are those annoying comic book movies so many elements get taken out from them, especially fight scenes etc. and then Hollywood comes in with all these dumb ideas to make it cooler, which is why we see gigantic Terminator machines that weren't in the originals, or some whacko hulk predator or alien because ya know, the bigger and uglier things are, that's cool, right? :p

    No!

T3 and Salvation to me, though I've never seen a transformer movie, but I've seen the shorts and that's what it looked liked. Hollywood goes oh Transformers was a hit so let's implement the same ideas then our new Terminator movie will also be a hit. So it brings in new fans, but the oldies like me are like oh what fucken ever!

See, all the machines in the first 2 movies like at the start in the post apocalyptic scenes, see to me that's what it is.. So when they make new movies and all the robots have never weapons and they're big and ugly robots and now chain gun lasers... Like they weren't in the originals, so personally, I don't like to see them in new movies because it's introduced and now authentic to me...

I dunno I'm weird like that. I like sequels to at least resemble the original storyline or something.

    That’s simply not possible.

No matter how sensitive your skin may be to the sun, sun-burnt feet simply isn’t possible.

    T3 came out before Transformers.

I enjoyed Salvation, not sure if it's due to having gone into it with no expectations or being more easily entertained by these types of movies. I felt like it had a certain edge to it which I don't get from generic comic book movies.

By not adding new machines, the movies would definitely be rehashing alot of the same stuff and the premise would become kind of corny imo. How am I to believe that this Super Intelligent AI singularity that seeks to terminate humanity is not going to be able to diversify and evolve?

Making the robots big and ugly? Why would Skynet care about human aesthetics?

Salvation was 100x better than T3, I can't stand T3 the whole movie was a waste of time IYAM. At the end "we couldn't stop it" yeah well we knew that 30mins into T1. :p so to me, T3 was a wasted movie about something we knew was going to happen anyway.

Plus JC turned from a rebel boy to some emo loser. But whatever I don't want to bring my mood down thinking about that movie. :)

Nick Stahl as John Connor was completely miscast in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

    He was insufferable

I caught a bit of aliens the other day, and, man.. What a movie. Everything about that movie was good. The cast, the action, the story. Just the way everything looked and how the cast were allowed to individualise their costumes etc to make it suited to them. It just works so well. :) I just sat there watching like, there's not one bad scene in the whole movie.

Of course I can only watch the directors cuts from those films these days, especially T2, the extended versions make so much more sense. Especially the part where the liquid metal man get shot at the end, in the theatrical movie, John Connor makes a huge guess to let his mum shoot the imposter mum, but in the director's cut it's because he can see the liquid metal man feet melting on the steel.

Its literally 2 seconds of footage that makes that whole ending so much more worth while I don't know what they didn't add it.

Regarding Aliens, the added scenes with the colonists really fills in the gaps.

Which scenes were those? Where the family discovered the ship?

Scenes I know added were Ripley finding out about her daughter, the colonists finding the ship, the part where the auto cannons unload on the aliens, so you actually know what they're talking about when they're listening to it... Hmm.... I'm not sure what else...

Though I always wanted to know how the hell the Queen alien got on board the big ship. Like I know the foot of the craft hits the flooring the alien was on, and she could have held onto the foot of the craft BUT....... she didn't, she wasn't there. That's the only flaw I can find lol.

No, no it's wasn't. That's because someone in an office on earth asked them to check out a grid reference. They did. They don't tell why and workers don't ask, they don't ask because it takes 2 weeks to get an answer out there and the answer always is "don't ask" so, as far as the foreman was concerned, whatever that family found would be theirs.

    :D

Did you see what I did there? :p

Taking MDMA too frequently is not good either, it's probably more of a factor for lingering crashes and side effects than the specific time you take it. Granted, sleep deprivation can certainly compound negative effects. If you're taking it with booze still, well I already discussed that with you.

From my understanding, it takes about 2 weeks minimum for your brain to replenish the monoamine neurotransmitters that MDMA targets, most notably serotonin. So basically not only are you going to be having worse crashes but you likely won't have as intense of peaks, if you dose more frequently. I think that type of dosing frequency is where many people experience the "loss of magic."

What about once a week though? :p
We'll probably have a couple weeks break after today.
