Trump moves to escalate investigation of intel agencies

    excerpt:

"Trump also appreciated Barr’s combative stance with lawmakers and reporters as he defended the Justice Department’s handling of the report, and again when he declined to appear before Congress and defied a subpoena, drawing a possible contempt charge. Trump has told close confidants that he “finally” had “my attorney general,” according to two Republicans close to the White House who were not authorized to speak publicly about private conversations."

Democrats inch closer to ultimate prize: Trump’s financial records

    excerpt:

"Beyond the president’s financial records, Democrats in Congress have made progress this week on another front: access to a less-redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s final report and some of the investigation’s underlying evidence.

On Tuesday, the House Intelligence Committee struck a deal with the Justice Department to view some of that underlying evidence on a rolling basis, beginning as early as this week.

The mounting probes reached a fever pitch on Wednesday when Trump convened an impromptu Rose Garden press conference, during which he lashed out at Democrats and ordered them to “get these phony investigations over with.”

On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called Trump’s press conference a “stunt” and a “temper tantrum” meant to deflect attention away from the court decisions."

Mapping The U.S. Farm Subsidy $1M Club

Mapping The U.S. Farm Subsidy $1M Club

    excerpt:

"During the Great Depression, farm subsidies were created to keep the family farm afloat and ensure a stable national food supply. Today, these subsidies have grown so lucrative that wealthy investors, large corporations, and farm-estate heirs use taxpayer money to maximize their personal return on investment.

Since 2008, however, the top 10 farm subsidy recipients each received an average of $18.2 million – that’s $1.8 million annually, $150,000 per month, or $35,000 a week. With the median household income of $60,000 a year, these farmers received more than 30 times the average yearly income of U.S. families."

Mapping The U.S. Farm Subsidy $1M Club

    excerpt:

"Why hasn’t Congress reined in the largess and stopped farm subsidy abuses? Well, our auditors found 12 members of Congress collected up to $637,059 in subsidy payments last year alone.

In fact, members crafting the policies on the agriculture committees are, many times, large recipients of their subsidies. The list includes Reps Doug LaMalfa (CA-1) with $1.3 million, Vicky Hartzler (MO-4) with $20,420, Robert Gibbs (OH-18) with $7,660, and Sens Charles Grassley (IA) with $58,210, and Debra Fischer (NE) with $16,190 (payments between 2015-2017).

This summer, the U.S. House and Senate each passed respective versions of a new farm bill. Not surprisingly, loopholes allow non-farmers — such as congressmen and billionaires — to reap big benefits. It seems that as the two chambers work together to draft final legislation, you’ll want to hold on to your wallet."

'Is this sustainable?’: Farmers say bailouts aren’t enough in Trump’s trade war

'Is this sustainable?’: Farmers say bailouts aren’t enough in Trump’s trade war

    excerpt:

"Trump has claimed that the Chinese are paying tariffs that are going directly to the Treasury, and in turn, helping farmers. That is inaccurate, though, as these tariffs are actually being paid by American businesses and passed on to consumers.

And, Stafslien added, the tariffs have affected “all of our crops.” Although he grows soybeans, the crop that has been hit the hardest, he has seen an impact all over.

“It’s not like you take one commodity and hurt it with tariffs and it doesn’t affect the other,” he said. “It’s a cascading, tidal wave effect with everything.”"

All those subsidies are just bullshit figures the entire country has known for decades, with Trump attempting to subsidize them even more simply reflecting the fact its not about food or welfare, but the price of land. Most of the best farming land on the east coast has been replaced with suburbs, while the cash has been flowing steadily into the US since WWII driving up the price of everything. In the US rent is half your expenses, while in other countries it is a quarter. Imagine your rent being cut in half, but in the US the country went with basically allowing money to exploit people for both land and automobiles.

Go ahead, raise the price of bread, and the price of cars and rent goes up. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, which is exactly how both the entrenched wealth in the republican and democratic parties both like it. The idea that democrats still represent the poor and working class is a little hard to swallow, since they've helped to suspend our constitutional rights and build the largest prison system in history, while allowing the top 1% to collect 99% of the wealth. Only Americans are too stupid to admit they've sold themselves down the river for a pocket full of mumbles and McSoyburgers.

The US military began the food stamp program, because even their cannon fodder was malnourished and, now, they intend to replace them with robots. Real estate agents are about to be replaced with AI, cheap to mass produce electric cars that are super efficient are coming, and the circle jerk will finally be complete. Empires rule the distribution of goods, while democrats have been arguing with republicans about how to divide up the spoils. It is illegal to buy a cheap car likely to kill you in the US, because too many people can't afford anything better, and you can't exploit peasants that are dead, and it costs just as much to bury them. Freedom is buying what we insist you buy, rugged individualism and the Tea Party at their finest.

The American love affair with the land and automobiles is strictly regulated, and quite understandable considering a third of the country is dirt poor, with the lowest social mobility rates in the developed world, and many have almost no access to mass transit. Fuck em all, I have no use for either Obama or Trump or Oprah for that matter. The rich are not like the rest of us... and never will be. Only the truth can set you free, in the land of the deaf, dumb, and blind.

Rudy Giuliani shares fake news in an effort to smear Nancy Pelosi.
Rudy shared one of a number of doctored videos that have been slowed down to make her speech appear slurred.
The video was posted on Facebook by Politics WatchDog.
Rudy deleted his post and then

Giuliani is merely a thermometer of what is to come, because he knows of all people the public doesn't care about the truth. Next time, it will be an untraceable source. Money cannot fucking lose in a fight against honesty, when the public has no personal integrity anymore and our glorious leader is a fucking Neo-Nazi!

Trump has resorted to using one of his two-word preschooler names for Pelosi like he has for many other people, referring to her as Crazy Nancy.

Trump is also turning against his beloved Fox for covering some of the competition in the 2020 election.

In addition to having Giuliani try to protect him in a sophomoric fashion with edited videos, he now has Attorney General WIlliam Barr trying to run interference for him by making slanted remarks such as 'spying did occur' on Trump and refusing to show up for a House Judiciary Committee hearing. Trump has also given Barr authority to declassify any material related to what Trump perceives as spying on his campaign.

Trump is Donald Duck if there ever was one, a lose cannon on deck threatening to cause major damage if not sink the ship. The more upset he becomes, the more damage he can do, but he is about to be thrown overboard in the traditional fashion of the Tea Party, which never includes a graceful exit strategy. He is so stupid, he may demand to be tarred and feathered, but I doubt it.

Be grateful he's just stupid enough to not believe he's a dictator.

I like how he brought in his staff to corroborate that he was calm, cool, and collected during his meeting with Pelosi, and Schumer.
As if they are going to contradict what he said. Anybody with a brain could see that was a rouse. Of course his ignorant supporters believe him.

The Donald has never taken no for an answer in his life, which is why he behaves like a three year old. He will buy as many yes men and mass media outlets as he possibly can to prove he never accepts no for an answer. He's a winner, by definition if he publishes his own dictionary.

And now his consiglieri, Rudy Giuliani, tweets a heavily edited and doctored video (and Trump tweeted a different doctored one) making it seem that Nancy Pelosi slurred her words and was impaired. He took it down, but made no apologies, cuz she said bad things about Trump so that makes it okay. How low wilt they sink? Can't trust your eyes and ears anymore when it comes to video. They can make an opponent (seem to) say or do anything!

Barr will cherry pick info which can help Trump and hide info which proves he committed crimes. That's called obstruction of justice.

Barr did show up for a Republican-controlled Senate Judiciary Committee meeting.
