It's not really news both Microsoft and Sony will bring out a new console in the next years. But yes, Sony's new one will likely be called simply playstation 5.

It often shifts per console generation. I think technically the xbox one is better than the ps4. But the tech differences are neglectable imo. What swayed me last time was 1) certain game exclusives, and 2) the fact i could play and exchange games with a friend (now even several!). So for me switching to playstation was def worth it.

Didn't you already buy it second handed? Ok price indeed. But did you buy it to play mainly one (FF) game? That's less economical
