26 years here. I still hate Fathers Day. Seems to be a difficult day for a lot of people

 

My parents never made me do it as a kid, which must be the reason these days don't even really register with me. They always taught me that all these things were card companies inventing reasons to sell cards.

 

It's less stressful. We should get rid of these days and just have General Happiness Days instead.

 

When I last stayed the night with my parents I left them a "happy parents day" card on whatever day. It's not like people can't do this stuff whenever they like without forcing a cultural norm into existence that makes loads of people sad.

Yeah - I still remember when, the day, my father died...and my mother telling me. I laid my little head in her lap and cried. She even let me do that, that time. I would be 5 in a couple of months.

@Mother's Love I'm so sorry. He's with you in spirit...and only time helps cope. Which I know if ANYBODY knows that, you already do. Damn, this is a hell of a day, huh.

 

Sounds like you had some really cool parents.

 

Weird how clearly you can remember things like that isnt it? I had just turned 8 and woke up one morning, went to the bathroom, did my normal morning thing then my mom came in the bathroom and told me and I very vividly remember pressing my face into her stomach and crying. I cant remember things that happened a couple weeks ago sometimes but I'll always remember that

I was with my dad when he died I got to be the last person to make him really laugh...

He was trying to tell my brother and I something and because of the stroke he was having a really hard time getting the words out and my brother looked across the bed to me and said what did he say?

And my dad looked over at me and I said how the fuck do I know I don't understand stroke... My my dad cracked up big time I also gave him his last shave that day couple days later he was gone.... But I don't get bummed out at all my Father's Day it's good to remember the good memories

 

Came home the other day and all the hens were waiting for me cuz they were hungry

 

This 2019 Tornado season has been extremely active. well above average.

Be careful you might just get your wish, as we move into Tornado season here in the Northeast.

The last really good Tornado outbreak here in Massachusetts was back in June of 2011

So you remember the rather obscure 2011 Massachusetts outbreak, impressive.

Or was it your superior X gene which allowed you to sense the turbulence from the tornadoes 3700 miles away?
