Yes. I can. The rich crazy in Antelope even had his own airstrip for his private jets. They were all about power. They bred their own salmonella on their ranch and sprayed it on all the salad bars throughout The Dalles. They wanted to make enough people too sick to go vote. Gggrrrr.

What I was getting at is: I can make Tapioca Pudding out of the box but there is an old country way to make it with real eggs and real cream and about half a truckload of real sugar. My X used separate the whites from the egg yolks and make the deal in two halves then mix it together. She was a good baker and a good hair dresser. That was why I married her. I wanted Black Berry Pies and free hair cuts. In them years I used to buy Farmer Brothers coffee in Denver, so life was grand with all that good baking: Boston Cream Pie, Black Berry Pie, Strawberry Rhubarb, bread pudding, tapioca pudding. I'm starting to get hungry now!

 

He knows how to grow pole beans and acorn squash.

 

Michigan can get tough winters too. Today I'm looking at some lake country places in Indiana. If it is just me and you in the commune we might wanna go for a swim every now and then? Maybe we'd go after some small mouth Bass or some Blue Gills?

 

Been years since I've gone fishing. Those were good times. Someday I'll have a kayake.

I never asked, but does anyone have a problem with cats? I have one. Dex.

Dexter is about 7 or 8. I think. He used to live in my dumpster and we met when I offered him shelter during a particularly bad winter. Started with wool blankets and a box, eventually coaxing him inside. He was a fully grown tom, all black. Has a few battle scars.
With Dex in the house, there would be zero rodents. He brought me a full grown squirrel once.
He's very sociable and gets along with dogs, once he knows they are of the nature that won't hurt him. I think he's like me - he's lived in the streets and appreciates a soft place to land.

I really hope nobody has allergies. Or dogs that hate cats.
Dexter is not necessarily a deal breaker, but I would dearly love to keep him. He is my therapy kitty. We've been through a lot together.

Oh I don't know about a male cat. Most of them piss to mark everything in the house and vomit hair balls. Can we just get a nice soft dog? I lived with a woman once who had a can that pissed on the corner of the bed post. The bedroom stunk like … well … something royal. Maybe Tyrson could keep Dex over there in Ohio to keep the squirrels off his tomato plants?

 

AK is Alaska (up). AR is Arkansas (down). I know where we can get the Firefox books at a used book place. Initially I had gone to that place to buy a copy of The Joy of Sex when I accidentally noticed the Firefox collection. It's a great used bookstore with great prices.

 

Dex does NOT do that. Even when I fostered cats for a year. Yes, I WAS that stupid. I had five at ONCE (never do THAT again) but sex was totally chill. Like I said, I think he was just grateful.

When I first arrived I was actually afraid to sleep here. Trash and stink everywhere. She's a gamer. Enough said.
I steamed the house and enzymed the crap out of it. Actually searched by blue light so I could get it all. I replaced ruined mopboards. But I know about the stinky-sting that makes you pause before entering a room. Makes you want to throw up in your mouth.

Oh and my friend's cat? I call him Piss Boy and boy did we do battle. Guess who won?
He didn't like it when I made him stay outside three days. On several occasions. On many, many occasions.
(Or maybe it was my urine on his bandana he didn't like? Oooops)
I also use play and positive reinforcement. I've clicker-trained the pets here. Call me weird.

Cats may THINK they rule the roost, but I call bullshit.
I grew up with dogs, but have fostered birds, rodents and of course dogs and cats. This was back when I had the money and the energy to do so. I love critters.
But they don't call the shots in my world. Must be the Irish in me.
