It indicates they came from a close town in Mexico. It indicates that town had a coin laundry facility. I recall a picture of the migrants who had no shoe laces.
Yeah, that's a possibility. Well in fact that's gotta be it. And it also seems mighty important to them to keep their shoes nice and white. That's hard to do after trekking for a thousand miles or so.
Either a vast conspiracy or that migrants have figured out how to do laundry simply with water, a $1 bag of detergent, and the sun.
If they crossed the Georgia border their clothing would be orange. We have orange Zebras and Pandas at the Atlanta zoo. The only place I've seen with more orange dirt is Hawaii. And that border is much harder to breech.
I personally would be ashamed to blame those less fortunate and victims for their plight. It’s an idea that seems to be in favor among many conservative circles, always has been. They seem to be constitutionally incapable of feeling shame. About 2000 years ago a carpenter in Palestine didn’t think it was so admirable either.
Nice kicks. I see Nike, New Balance, Puma, Crocs and, wait, are those Diadoras?!?!?! I didn't know they were still around. No Keds? No Converse? WTF?
Okay, let's not talk about the fact of illegal immigration. Let's talk about what happens if there's trouble in other countries. What about when the people of those countries want to march a thousand miles, without getting their clothes dirty or wrinkled, to the U.S. border? Should we tell them to come on over because Granite45 has a plan to nullify the law and have taxpayers pick up the tab? I see that that answer is a one-size-fits-all reply.
Oh yes they are. We have some of the BEST Mexican restaurants in metro Atlanta. It's as if they truck in REAL Mexicans to cook for us. Real authentic flavors!!!!!
Americans can never understand the desperation that would drive a person to drag their families to a foreign nation. Even our poor have air conditioning, a car and food (too much food, judging by our waistlines.) I soured on the US after 2002, when people supported the invasion of Iraq. My dad soured on the US after being drafted and sent to Vietnam. There he got to see real poverty and desperation. People use the law when it seems advantageous to their preconceived ideas. It's against the law to smoke pot where I live, but that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it; just ignore the law and try to get away with it. If people want to live here and be productive, raise families and pursue happiness then more power to them. We need people like that.
Worked when Reagan did it. The 90's were boom years and now Atlanta has awesome Taco trucks. Migrants are also fortunately having kids here as well. Urban millennials like me aren't having enough kids to prevent a Japan style aging demographic time bomb. If you're of or near retirement age you should really appreciate it.
I don't appreciate anything those migrants do, 'cause they're dirty and they're from another country. AMERICA.
I hope not, since Okiefreak doesn't want to do that. He just wants all prisoners, especially children, to be treated humanely--especially if they are asylum seekers and didn't do anything illegal. As for those trekkers with the clean shirts, are you suggesting that they didn't trek? I think the treks are well-documented. Tell us what you think it implies? Are they crisis actors moonlighting from their day gigs as victims of mass shootings? That would explain all the children. Or did their chauffeurs drop them at the border and head back home? Or maybe they're using the laudromats in Mexico. They may have heard they better clean up before the U.S. gets its hands on them, cuz they won't see soap and water for awhile.
Probably ICE takes everyone out shopping once they cross the border. "Well, if you're going to be American," they say, "You've got to dress the part. We're going to K-Mart!"
What it implies? It means that, in spite of the fact that they've trekked a thousand miles, their clothing and shoes appear to be in pristine condition. I don't know how that could be. I assume you go along with the "they stopped at laundromats" or the "they did laundry simply with water, a $1 bag of detergent, and the sun." So I guess I'm implying that that seems unlikely. But then, anything's possible, I guess. You say that Okiefreak doesn't want to give the impression that he thinks people from other troubled counties should march on in to the U.S., but that is what he is advocating in this case.
It is true, though. I would expect people from Central and South America to be completely filthy, but they don't seem to be. It's WEIRD.
