From the internet: 3.7 percent US Jobless Rate Unexpectedly Rises to 3.7% The US unemployment rate rose to 3.7 percent in June 2019 from a 49-year low of 3.6 percent in the previous month and above market expectations of 3.6 percent.
From the internet: The broader definition of unemployment — U6 — fell to 7.3 percent in February. The U-6 rate is a more encompassing unemployment rate that counts discouraged workers as well as those holding jobs part time for economic reasons. Here's what the 'real' unemployment rate is
They don't like this They don't like that They're never satisfied and that's a fact The more we give The more they take The more we fix The more they break Your countries in an awful mess With a whole lotta civil unrest Well I got one thing to suggest... We help em pack, and be kind Make sure we don't leave an illegal immigrant behind! And send em all back to Mesopotamia Send em all back to Mesopotamia We oughtta send em all back to Mesopotamia where they beloooong.
I read that, and fail to see how "discouraged" workers could or can be included in anything. Who determines them "discouraged"? Is there a different meaning for "discouraged workers" than what "discouraged" means in every other way in the English language? Also...if you aren't going to go with what is considered the "official unemployment rate" (U3)...lets just include the whole definition, which is what you are going with. Personally I find it strange that you can't just go with what is considered the "official unemployment rate"; but, you must keep on until you find a higher number (but that's just me wondering). U6 Unemployment Rate. ... U3 is the official unemployment rate. U5 includes discouraged workers and all other marginally attached workers. U6 adds on those workers who are part-time purely for economic reasons. The current U6 unemployment rate as of June 2019 is 7.20.
In economics, a discouraged worker is a person of legal employment age who is not actively seeking employment or who has not found employment after long-term unemployment, but who would prefer to be working. This is usually because an individual has given up looking, hence the term "discouraged". A discouraged worker, since not actively seeking employment, has fallen out of the core statistics of the unemployment rate since he is neither working nor job-seeking. Their giving up on job-seeking. Let’s take this one step at a time, and we are going to use the Federal Reserve’s own numbers. According to the Fed, there were 6,065,000 working age Americans unemployed in May (2018). That would be an excellent number if it was an honest number. But of course that number does not tell the whole story. We also have to factor in the other category of working age Americans that are not currently employed. They are not considered to be “officially unemployed” because they are considered to be “not in the labor force”. According to the Federal Reserve, 95,915,000 working age Americans were “not in the labor force” in May.
No it doesnt. Certain jobs in the manufacturing sector have moved overseas; there seems to be a sentiment that immigrants are coming for and stealing those jobs but they arent. The jobs simply dont exist anymore in the US But plenty of other jobs do exist, for immigrants and citizens alike. The economy is currently expanding and unemployment is low right now, clearly the influx of both legal and illegal immigrants haven't slowed down the economy.
Has anyone, like, actually noticed any negative consequences of illegal immigration? My life seems exactly the same as it always has.
Ok, but how do you force them to live in small western or mid western towns? They are still small towns for a reason... because no one else wants to live there
According to the Fed, there were 6,065,000 working age Americans unemployed in May. According to the Federal Reserve, 95,915,000 working age Americans were “not in the labor force” in May. Do you get it? Working age Americans not in the labor force, plus working age Americans unemployed, equals what?
Just goes to show you don't know what you're talking about. Small midwestern towns get plenty of Mexican immigrants. It drives the racists crazy.
We have a whole community here in Doopity Doo, Iowa. They work in the factories and live in the trailer courts.

Some of the most in demand fields right now with more job openings than applicants looking for work are in low skilled, blue collar industries. If immigrants are taking jobs away from American citizens as you seem to be suggesting, then why arent American citizens filling these jobs?
What I love about Australia is 2 days later they will forget what the protest march was about, next month its on to saving the turtles, the month after that aboriginal rights and they have to bus some aboriginals in from 100km away, kangaroo culling the month after that Then by the time its 6 months and we are back to immigration, we have already changed Prime Ministers again anyway
