When I was a kid the local independent TV station used to always play those movies every Sunday afternoon with Sidney Toler, Warner Oland, and Roland Winters. Sidney Toler was by far the best.
This movie was strictly fun... not supposed to be lots of depth. I wasn't totally paying attention to the movie, but the parts I watched, like a couple of the fight scenes, were really well done. If you're not sure what to watch next, watch this!
Great movie but also about as sexist a movie as it could possibly be, but then again it did come out in 1956 so it deserves some latitude
I thought it was great. I think they must have actually thrown an event to make this movie because everything looked real to me.
Pretty good, I found it to be like a mix of Ex-Machina and Moon. There were enough similar elements to those movies where most the twists and themes didn't do much for me. However, it approached some themes from a different angle and was unique enough to be engaging and entertaining.
Yesterday was pretty good except they deviated from the original story and played up the love angle between the two main characters. They should have developed the main premise more....after a world wide blackout no one knows who the Beatles were or any of their songs.
I started watching this but felt the plot kind of fizzled out. Midway through the film I had premonitions that I would be dissatisfied with the outcome.
Echo in the Canyon, about the rock scene in LA's Laurel Canyon in the sixties, was pretty good when they played the interviews with Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr, David Crosby, Roger McGuinn, John Sebastian, etc. But it really fell on it's face when Fiona Apple, Jakob Dylan, Beck, and whomever else continually tried to do cover versions of classic songs. I applaud the effort...but they were bad. All they did was illustrate how good the original songs were.
12 angry men (1957) with a star studded cast including Henry Fonda, E.G. Marshall, Lee J Cobb, Jack Warden, I first saw this movie back in 1995 host by Geraldo Rivera on the eve of the O J Simpson verdict. Geraldo was giving commentary on the deliberations during the commercial breaks,.and how the two juries might compare with one another .... ..12 Angry Black Jurors (1995)...lol...
