Some guys can find their idealized form of machismo and be entertained in watching grown men in spandex fight a scripted fight for years on end. It's not something I understand but if there is a significant change in that that they feel takes away from the essence of the entertainment and upsets them, I'm not going to shit on them over it.
fair enough. i don't get it, but if it's not hurting anyone and people enjoy it, then i really can't complain.
Another example, you can see it in the career choices made by the only 2 genders. How many male interior decorators do you know? How many female plumbers, diesel mechanics, and garbage collectors do you know? Male and females are different. Deal with it.
This is where feminine power can take hold. If a woman can captivate a man and make him fall for her, she can make him passionately monogamous. I've been under that spell before. Some of the world's well known leaders in human history have been men who've procreated with more than one woman. When I walk into a public scene, and there's lots of women around, even I will sometimes look around and select in my mind which ones I'd gladly take to bed. "I'd do her, her, her, her, but not her." And I know I'm not the only guy who thinks this way. But this is why a female James Bond replacement won't work. James Bond was an alpha who has lots of women at his disposal. Alpha women don't sleep around with lots of men at her disposal. Even if she did, it wouldn't be believable. I don't have a problem with creating a new action movie with a badass black female secret agent who works for MI6. But there is clearly an agenda by retiring the James Bond character and replacing him with a woman.
Daniel Craig to be first white Shaft The iconic character – a no-nonsense private detective from the mean streets of Harlem who's a sex machine with all the chicks – first appeared on screen in 1971’s Shaft, but has thus far only been played by black actors. Craig said: “If I do get the gig I don’t want to simply be known as ‘the white Shaft’. ”I’d bring new depth to the character by swapping Shaft’s iconic leather trench-coat for a quilted Barbour and having the chase scenes sound-tracked by Muse and Neil Young.” Shaft fan Wayne Hayes said: “The idea that he could be played by a blonde-haired, blue-eyed man who spent his formative years in Frodsham, Cheshire, is simply not in keeping with the spirit of the character. “Craig was great in the James Bond films, which are justifiably seen as classics of whitesploitation cinema, but that character races around shooting guns and shagging loads of women which is totally different.
of course you're not the only man who thinks that way. and of course some well known leaders have procreated with more one woman. but there are men who believe in and desire monogamy of their own accord, without needing to be "put under the spell of a woman".
I'm not saying men and women arent different or that men dont tend to dominate manual labor fields because their body compositions tend to be more muscular. I am saying that your statement about personal interests is a ludicrous generalization. Men and women share plenty of common interests that are not dictated by whether one has a penis or a vagina
Why do you think it doesn't make sense for Roland to be black? Other than maybe a brief description of him at the beginning of the series, I can't think of any time that his skin colour was referenced. I thought that he played Roland well, even though I didn't like the movie. It was too long of a story to put into a movie, and I didn't really like the new storyline that they came up with.
Ahh, yes, the 'spell' of one of those evil women. That must have been difficult, how did you ever recover? I can't imagine what it must be like for a woman to trick you into a relationship where you care about each other so passionately that you don't spend your time thinking about which women you'd like fuck.
Well his blue eyes are mentioned many times.. Not that a black man COULDN'T have blue eyes, but not really normal. There was the whole thing that Detta hates him and Eddie because they're white men.. If Roland was black.. I'd think that would have mattered to Detta. I suppose it is a small thing really. But it seemed unnecessary. If I'd started watching it and loved it, I probably wouldn't have cared. But I thought the opening scene, Roland chasing the Man in Black across the desert was so atmospheric in the book.. The fact they started with Jake was instantly wrong to me. I don't really know how they did it.. I mean, to do it justice there needs to be a film for each book. But I don't know, I'm happy just to read the books Rereading them right now in fact : )
Yeah, that stuff is down to society and lack of role models in those areas of work. In New Zealand you see as many women doing road construction as men. It's notable when you're used to only seeing men in that work. So all female children who grow up seeing that are going to see it as something they can do. Here, less likely. Girls see it as a man's job. But there's no actual reason why it should be.
Gender is not a one or the other; unlike what 6-eyed Shaman would have you believe. You have more choices than that and why he wants to box you into a one-or-the-other is probably some form of politically motivated mind control. The conversation is totally allowed to go down any given number of ways, and the gender spectrum should basically never be ignored. Here is an article that I found. I wanted to post something compassionate without siding heavily with trans or non-binary individuals, but nonetheless this is what I found. It's from the New York Times apparently... The Struggles of Rejecting the Gender Binary This covers quite a bit of ground for those who are free thinking as well as and at the same time as covering those who reject the binary and live their actual and real lives outside of the box; yes they are real, and no it isn't some errant mistake. Read if you please, or don't. It doesn't matter. The long and the short is I feel like when someone denies transgender equality they may as well be denying climate change or saying the earth is flat... In the same vein as women, I think that men can also get into the spirit of what is being done with the Bond franchise. I believe that women taking on lead roles indicate that a brighter, more intellectually motivated future can be (as it should be) in the cards for America, Hollywood, and James Bond fans all over the world. I think this means that they care. I think it shows that African Americans are beautiful too. At first I'll admit (and anyone can go back and look...) that I was skeptical. As a fan of Daniel Craig's bond, I felt betrayed and that it was somehow the end of the world. But there will be other movies even if this one doesn't turn out.
You seen John Wick 3? The plot of that is half the movie Halle Berry plays a former boss of his or something / fellow assasin and the go on a killing spree together Thought that was a really cool part of the movie Dont know what everyones on about this 007 thing especially since they dont know the plot
Such an annoying argument though Because 99% of the time it is one or the other Hardly a spectrum if only 1 % of everyone was ever going to bother referring to themselves as non-binary I think we are at the tail end of that fad anyway. Most never really gave a shit
They tried to do the whole Dark Tower series in one film?? I've read The Gunslinger and I seemed to recall that being like a soild 250+ pages.
I'm not sure. @eggsprog ?? That was the impression I was getting. If so, a terrible idea. Gunslinger is the shortest of the series. I can understand combining it with book 2 maybe.
