Not out of the realm of possibility.

Just a few years ago in a case of road rage, this guy in front of me slammed on his brakes in order to cause me to collide into his vehicle. But I anticipated his action and almost simultaneously hit my brakes avoiding his bumper.
Needless to say he was pissed, he got out of his car, but them quickly got back in when he noticed a police officer on a traffic detail across the street.

If I had gotten out of my vehicle I would have pummeled the little guy.
