I think it has mostly to do with differences in education really. Anyone who has gone to college somewhat recently can see the value in the approach of Sanders and that ilk. The true problem is that idk what % of the voters are over fifty years old, haven't been to college or not in decades, and don't understand why the party is leaning left.

If there were a key takeaway from my course in Social Problems (the one that discusses everything from healthcare, to homelessness, to prostitution, to drug addiction) it's that the current process isn't working very well. We can take hints from other countries. Some of the Nordic countries for example have high scores in terms of their economy's success and the happiness of their electorate.

I walked away from that course knowing that we can implement a better strategy on healthcare, tuition, and among other things the death penalty. But how do you put it to an aging group of voters who shrink away at first mention of taxation? It's a stalemate. I think Biden ends the stalemate. He just needs to win over the millennial electorate.

Biden struggles to hit it off with millennials

But Biden isnt in favor of changing the current processes and he isnt in favor of progressive policies, that's why millennials arent taking to him and why older people favor him

Oh and the DNC just voted against holding a climate change debate. It's like they're trying to alienate millennial voters

New Hampshire, the first primary state, which together with Iowa and South Carolina , are key to a candidate's political momentum. That where he should be. Smart move!

In 11 years some millennials will be 50.

Time makes old chumps of us all.

I feel like millennials are part of the solution, but I think that implementing the new millennial agenda can be problematic. For example the green new deal needs to happen, but done incorrectly it could really cost jobs for 50 year old worker in the fossil fuel or coal sector. Because if you're green energy, who do you want to hire? The millennial who's college education has revolved around an environmentally conscious ideology, or someone who would probably rather keep doing his daily routine punching the clock for the next 15 years until he retires and needs to be replaced?

In that example, there has to be extra incentive to hire the oil/coal guys in my uneducated opinion on the matter. I gather it (the incentive) would have to be financed/bankrolled like most other policies by increasing taxes; either on the wealthy, elite, or on the public at large (which makes better sense, but most can't afford and won't vote for).

So it's weird. Do you just jump into the pool headfirst? :D

I have no empathy for someone who refuses to learn something new, to keep their job.
    I had to do that.
Out here in California, the longshoreman's union is upset because AI is replacing their jobs.
Well, I say these people should learn to program these AI machines. Guess what, they will have a good chance at staying employed

Automation is taking jobs away from people in all industries. In trucking they started using semi trucks without drivers, in Ohio and Colorado. How do you compete with a computer operated semi? In 2005 we used to get $1.98 per mile for being owner operators. Then the business owners brought in Mexicans and Chinese drivers to drive for $0.18 per mile. Now the computer will do it for free. How does an American driver with a house payment stay working in these conditions?

Not everybody has the aptitude for doing such things.

What you said is basically the same thing as saying a guy that bags groceries should just go out and become an accountant. Sorry, but it doesn't work that way...

Climate change means restrictions on share holder profits. We have 2 right wing 1% parties in the USA. The people who donate now will not be alive in 30 years and they don't accept the idea man can change the Earth. Sad thing for me is now the debate has shifted to saying it's too late to change it so let's make money. 10 years ago it was not happening so why not make money?
