    I agree with him
Birth control and abortion should be easily accessible.
Obviously easily accessible/cheap/free birth control would cut down on abortions anyways.

It's funny to me when people act like these things are so extreme

  2. They just see Bernie gaining ground and will look for anything to blow completely out of proportion to defame him.

It is definitely a good idea to make birth control more accessible. I mean, what is the opposing viewpoint? "But then they won't be having as many unwanted babies!" Is that it?

All he essentially said is that we can reduce unwanted pregnancies while at the same time curbing population growth in order to combat global warming. He didn't say we have to start murdering millions of people because there's too many of us.

Who do I support if that is my position? Where are the pro-human extinction candidates?

If you mean taxpayer funded birth control, I totally agree. Save us a ton of money in the long hall. (Free would be cool too, if condoms and pills start raining from the skies.) :p

Abortion makes me cry, but you're right. The first step is educating the women of these countries about their reproductive systems/health and providing other methods of birth control, but I see what he's talking about and remember the discussion about it from my social problems class. Overpopulation should NOT be downplayed, which is exactly what republicans are doing when they cry foul at Sanders abortion statements.

I don't like abortion. I hate it. And while I don't think it will ever be the only option for me, it may be it for some people. And I'm not a woman. I believe in the pro choice outcome; whether I like its voice or not.

I get all bent out of shape about it when the waiters here still bring a straw though. I feel like calling the police. It's against the law to bring me one if I don't ask for one. :)

I think that banning plastic straws is fine, personally. And if the restaurant brings me one anyway in California I feel like they're voting for Trump.

I'd call the police if they weren't fascists!
Banning plastic straws is okay, but they reusable straws do get a weird wet cardboard texture.

Seems like their are bigger things we could do to help the environment too, besides straws.

Also, anyone drinking from a straw is immediately emasculated.

Doing cocaine with a straw is okay though. I don't know how well reusable straws perform in this regard.

The us has no business dictating population control policies to any foreign country.
You are so enamored with Sanders, you think he can do no wrong. Ironically, that's the way trump supporters feel about their man.

Sorry, Elizabeth is stealing Bernie's thunder.
I am thinking that way also.

  13. Yeah, so it's a good thing Bernie didn't say anything about dictating population control policies in other countries.

What's absurd isn't my or anyone else's admiration for the man, it's the fact that people like you just read a headline, take no appreciation for the actual subject matter, and just go with it, slinging dirt along the way.

This is really silly, you're buying into the spin.

Providing aid to organizations that provide birth control and abortion services to poor countries isnt dictating population control. It's providing humanitarian support for crucial services that all women should be able to access.

I supported this sort of thing a long time before I had ever heard of Sanders.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with voluntarily controlling the population through birth control. He isnt suggesting we force women to take birth control or have abortions, he is suggesting we support organizations that make these services available when women want them.

  15. I doubt he'd be able to say Sacagawea consistently. But going after her claims and the way she used them politically makes her fair game.

I still think Biden is the only viable democrat for the top seat.

It has nothing to do with running another country's domestic policy

It would be the equivalent of a foreign country making a sizable donation to Planned Parenthood.

Which is fine, PP needs the funding

Or another way of looking at it is, it would be on par with providing vaccines to overseas countries

I think you have a knack for seeing the important facts of a situation.

What difference does it make to another country if we want to help them out? I think that's a positive thing.
