I liked a couple Tool songs, but they were never really my thing. The new Bleached album on the other hand has been so far my favorite album of 2019.

The irony in this statement is Aenima actually has a song that sounds like elevator music.

I saw Tool live once and Maynard played the whole show in nothing but tighty whitey underwear with his back turned to the audience

I don't know many Tool songs, but I like "The Pot". What Tool song should I like better?

Thanks for thinking of me! I read most of the article, and I don't really relate to the whole "adulting is hard" culture, do you? I find it kind of cringey, actually.

I think I was tired because I hadn't been sleeping well and because I work a lot and have a lot going on in my personal life. Sometimes it just catches up with you, even though it seems as though it is happening for "no reason", because you don't feel stressed, ya know?

Huh. There's a lot going on in that article.

I'm not an expert at being a mature adult I guess, but I do okay. My childhood was nothing like in that article.

I primarily recall her talking about burnout and some of the unprecedented challenges millenials face. I feel like I should have read the article now ...

    Agreed, it is cringey.
I hadn't thought about it but you're right, I always read that kind of term and roll my eyes.
But I don't really "adult" in the way they mean so maybe I don't know : ) their stupid fault for buying into a certain idea of what being an adult means.

I'm guilty of some of the things discussed in the article. I do most "adult" things just fine, I am good at my job and I pay my bills on time etc et. but I will put off returning an email or a phone call or mailing something or doing some stupid easy menial errand/ task for months. My son didnt have a birth certificate for the first 3 years of his life. All I had to do was mail off for it but I didnt do that. I dont know why I am like this
Except now I do, it's just the millenial in me

Jk I dont really think anything talked about in the article would be generational specific

Being able to talk about it with people online and realize that nobody ever had their lives together. Back in the 80's you'd have to talk with someone at the... I dunno... grocery store about it.

I remember being obsessed about getting my first vehicle, first vehicle was actually a motorcycle, and that was freedom

And now as adult, I havent even bothered owning a vehicle for years cos its too much stuffing around

Yeah it would be nice to not need a car, they're a pain in the ass to take care of.
Newer cars make it a little easier because a handy little light comes on when you need an oil change or need maintanence. I used to be horrible about getting my oil changed on time, now I just take it whenever the light comes on

The thing about adulthood is you just need to look at it the way you anticipated it as a child. I can go to bed and stay up when I want! I can eat crazy things for breakfast! I can buy all the toys I want : )

Except by adulthood you have developed impulse control and have a firm grasp of actions and consequences, so you know if you stay up late you'll be tired the next day and you know if you eat something crazy for breakfast you'll have a tummy ache, and a possible case of type 2 diabetes later in life ;)

I kid. I know what you mean. We should all take the time to be silly and fun and indulge our child-like impulses
