Well, the whole rest of the world understands. The US doesn’t thanks to Ronald Regan and some crochity old conservatives. We were within a few centimeters of making the switch in 1979. As far as climate, west coast marine is pretty good...as in the PNW, Western Europe, and the mirror image in Chile and New Zealand.
I am interested in extreme temperatures but in only summer and winter. Spring and Autumn will be moderate. Give me a continental climate with super winters and summers. However, my winters will be windless and summers will be dry ( opposite of humid). Once the sun is gone, even 40°C doesn't feel bad at low humidity. Trust me. But indoor conditions will feel terrible so you have to have the AC, in which case I would, otherwise there is no way to stay at the home. But outside? Only when the sun is above during the day. Yeah. Sun feels very strong at such high temperatures.
Because I am interested in extreme temperatures. I wanna live every kind of temperatures throughout the year. That's fun. Just dont give me "wind during winter" and "humidity during summer"
Instead of going to different places in summer and winter, having the opposite temps in one place would be awesome.
The only thing I smoke is tobacco. However, I have a habit of getting high on tobacco when I wake up in the morning on empty stomach. It is called nicotine buzz. My first cigarette in the morning, I inhale the smoke deeply and get high but the high lasts very short.
I like to experience all 4 seasons but in a slightly less extreme way as you OP. April however sucks. 10 or 2 C is lousy. I prefer a warmer April month. But minus zero most of the time during early december - end of feb. Winter = ice and snow or else its just prolonged autumn or early spring I also don't really care for temps above 30C. Fun for a few days max. Unless I'm like travelling in an area where its supposed to be like that. But not for the average temp where I reside.
Reading people's descriptions of their ideal weather is soooo boring. There are so many threads that involve a conversation about ideal weather and I always wonder if anyone is bothering to read each other's posts.
It is not so often that you see someone's ideal climate is like this, is it? I appreciate the continentality of a climate. Life is too short to have smilar temps througout the year.
No, I'm really not. When it comes up in another thread I skim over them. I couldn't tell you what weather any of you prefer.
