I dont think talking about the weather is as boring as people make it out to be. Weather is interesting to me, as well as what different people like about different weather

April is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
    Memory and desire, stirring
    Dull roots with spring rain.
    Winter kept us warm, covering
    Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers.
Summer surprised us, coming over the Starnbergersee
With a shower of rain; we stopped in the colonnade,
And went on in sunlight, into the Hofgarten,
And drank coffee, and talked for an hour.
Bin gar keine Russin, stamm’ aus Litauen, echt deutsch.
And when we were children, staying at the arch-duke’s,
My cousin’s, he took me out on a sled,
And I was frightened. He said, Marie,
Marie, hold on tight. And down we went.
In the mountains, there you feel free.
I read, much of the night, and go south in the winter.

In Hemingway's A Moveable Feast he wrote this really lovely story about how T.S. Eliot worked for a bank before becoming a successful writer, and Hemingway and his crew of writers and artists thought Eliot was far too talented to slave away in a bank all day so they started a Get T.S. Eliot Out of the Bank fund so he could quit his job and write full time.

But then it turned out Eliot didnt really mind his job and didnt want to quit. And then he ended up getting published shortly after so it didnt matter anymore.

So there's a little off topic post to shake things up a little around here

Ahhh another weather watcher !!! - Yes I too like to keep an eye on weather, I detest thunder storms and have a healthy regard for them as I've seen people struck and killed by lightning, have passed through a hurricane (at sea - not nice !!!) and been up to my thighs in ice in Siberia.

    thank you.

now i will leave the thread and let people who don't find it boring discuss it in peace : )

mostly it's just if i try and read everyone's preferences i realise there's no way i'm going to remember because there are too many people and too many variations of how you all want the weather/seasons to behave. weather isn't actually boring. to watch. maybe still to talk about. i have to do a lot of that at work.

    GOOD DAY TO YOU, THREAD.

Invariably some joker will say pussy, or some sucker from southeast asia will respond by posting a picture of a golden retriever he had for lunch.

I have reached the same conclusion. It's evident
Weather is interesting, but people talking about it often far less. I find it interesting too though and people who nag on weather talk amuse me (especially in a thread specificly about it) :-D

edit: it also makes me think of our former fellow forummer Frieden who also couldn't stand weather talk :)

my recollection of frieden is that she couldn't stand any discussion that wasn't about frieden's boyfriend. at least after he came around; she was actually a good contributor before that.

I think that by 2100 life on earth will be screwed, 2200 extreme maximum.
We'll be plummeted into an ice age, of which 90%+ of us will die out due to hunger/disease.
