Much this hippie babble was the same old rhetoric I was hearing when I first followed the Grateful Dead. I was 15 bombarded with flyer after flyer walking around. The first was pollution, then the rain forest, pollution again, ozone layer, global warming .. All just a bunch of bullshit when you factor in the wastefulness of this traveling band of druggies and the people that follows them.. Same goes for the football stadiums with so much lighting Id have to look up the candle watts .. Ive been looking at the same wasteful parking lot lighting since I was able to see. But some how Ive to use LED to save the planet. ha. ha. Yeah ..

Strange the article didnt link to any study and quoted this guy, then reference the NPSC in this way as opposed to the actual university that did the study in which Im guessing James Powell had no involvement

Why such sneaky tactics from the article writers in the first place

Dont see how you would be able to measure carbon isotopes in the atmosphere then be able to differentiate between how much CO2 came from fossil fuels vs the increase in the worlds biomass or other sources. Especially since you wouldnt have any data on the make up off fuels mid 1800s to the 1970s

 

Regardless of rubbish left behind, they all would have had a lower carbon footprint that day if they had stayed at home in the dark, with the central heating or air conditioning off, sat in the dark for 12 hours and not breathed heavily

I assumed they all took buses, trains, ubers to get where they are going. Made signs out of plastic coated paper and plantation wood, with writing from textas with chemicals that will end up in the waterways. And no doubt at least a million single use water bottles
