The local NPR station has been playing Grateful Dwad songs written by Robert Hunter, and Grateful Dead songs songs other bands have covered, all day.

And because of that I've discovered this gem of an album:

When your lawn mower breaks

 

I want to put a camera on a helicopter blade now.. Filming inwards to the helicopter.. But when it's flying. It would look like that, I think, except the background would be moving... No.. Would it? I don't know. Let me think a minute. The background would move and the helicopter would look still... Orison can you sort this out please.

 

I'm sad that Irminsul left. You get to know a person, and then they just leave. It seems unfair, but that's the way life is. Nobody seems to be dwelling on it, but I'm going to miss the little sprite. Sad.

 

Watched a Documentary on netflix last night about Robert Johnson it was Pretty cool

 

you can not put anything on the wing/blade. the blade is made to lift the helicopter up and down, changing anything along the airfoil will change the forces of lift, drag, trust and all out wobble the helicopter.. like placing a heavy object on your ceiling fan.

before we take the helicopter out we inspect the blades for cracks and spiltting, dirt, bolts, lock nuts, cable fray, we pull on the tail boom to make sure its not loose from the body, we give the helicopter a pee test checking the gas for water, we spot check the engine, the wires, the skids, clean bugs off windows and the skin body, and any grime collected on tail blade, check the oil box.. this takes about 20mins.
We then move the helicopter outside and prep for engine start check list, this take about 10min.
We lift the helicopter up some and preflight check list, all in the green, we spin around to the left and right and check traffic, engine again, if all looks good from the green. We go.

Tower here usually just says "the option is yours papa charlie". Meaning we can go whenever we want.

I dont really get why people like to be so final about it. I think even if I stopped coming here as much I would still like to pop in every now and again
