There is no such thing as an "official" impeachment inquiry, no matter how many times the Dems say it. Impeachment process doesnt start until the house votes

Just as likely, More likely that an attempt to start impeachment this time will ruin the Democrats chances in the election and send a message to Trump he can do what he wants as they will be far more hesitant to try impeach a second time
