Without getting into too much politics here, in 2015 he promised to reform our electoral system to make it more fair, but then decided not to do it (it would have made it less likely for his party to be able to take power with only 30-40% of the vote). He promised it would be "the last unfair election," but then just won another unfair election.

The Liberals (his party) have a long history of campaigning on the left (pulling votes away from the NDP), and then governing from the centre/centre-right.

But, that said, he now has a minority government and we (NDP) have enough seats to hold the balance of power, so the results are the best I could hope for given our shitty first-past-the-post electoral system. Trudeau is also much better than the Conservative leader, who is anti-gang marriage, among other things.

(As for context - he was a drama teacher in another life, and I think he was demonstrating how to stage a fall. I also don't have the french skills to know for sure, though).

I take it the gang marriage is a typo: as its a really bad decision making it illegal for gangmembers to marry eachother
