I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you have alot more time left. Sounds like you like to travel. Where have you been since being retired?
Have always travelled - from school I joined Merchant Navy as a cadet officer, - my first tour (from Dubai back to Rotterdam) was the victim of an accident at sea which brought my career to an abrupt halt. Joined British Rail and got lots of 'free' continental travel. Went from Ostend (Belgium) to Moscow by train - took 2 days !!! - Subsequently travelled over most of what was then Eastern Europe. After retiring (2002) have visited Egypt, Cyprus (3 times) Rhodes, and Belfast ( 5 - 6 times) as my girlfriend lives there.
Yes darlin' - to an extent. Long-distance travel is a no,no, but shorter distances (up to 3 - 4 hours flights) are ok providing I take adequate care prior to flight.
Apart from being esconsced in my nice comfy riser/recliner armchair, munching on roast turkey with all the trimmings, followed by xmas pudding and Brandy sauce and a few mince pies for 'tea' no, have no plans. I have a few Hospital Consultant appointments later this month and in early December - am awaiting the replacement of one of my metal hip joints, which has now worn out and is giving me grief.
Sounds like you have some great food ideas.. I hope your health improves and you can keep travelling. I wish you well.
Thank you darlin, and the same to you too. I have always enjoyed my food, - am a gormand as you can see in my avatar, that jersey I'm wearing hides and disguises my stomach underneath it. I do my own cooking, (within limits) but have been known to cook my own cakes and sponges and I can look after myself.
I sleep nude, because its not restrictive and I'm very restive and toss and turn allnight, but its far too chilly to do so during the day and I can't exactly open the door to callers like that can I - I'd be arrested for 'indecent exposure'.
