Bullshit. Republicans have been the white Christian majority forever, and if they don't like being associated with racism all they have to do is attract people of color. They run the fucking government, and the only thing they hate is the idea of having to share the fucking government with the rest of the country! After two hundred years of democracy, they are suddenly talking about how it no longer serves their needs, as their population implodes altogether from a complete lack of real family values.

This is both parties, the core of establishment politics. Both sides have their reasons to despise the voters.

 

The entire country has voted along racial and religious lines for our entire history, and the issue is not whether politics are racist or religious, but how can politics address racism and remain secular in a democratic society. The US could not be a worse example of family values, with the worst social record in the developed world and half the population insisting Donald Duck should be above the law.

 

For most of the history of the nation nearly all of the candidates have been white, so I fail to see where you are calling racial lines into the voting. But consider that in more recent times president Obama would not have been voted into office without a substantial number of white people voting for him. There simply are not enough black Americans to pull it off without substantial diversity among the voters.

But then, I'm not inclined to see the US as a racist gulag.

Racism is whatever people recognize as racism, with Israelis and Palestinians often being genetically identical. In George Washington's day, just being Irish made you racially inferior by mainstream standards, which is why the Irish immigrants in NYC rioted and lynched a few black men when the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. They didn't want the competition from blacks for the lowest paying jobs. To a great extent, racism is no different from any other "ism" when money is involved, and the issue is how to prevent the money from doing all the driving and maintain the peace.

 

That's wonderful, it means the definition can be changed on a whim to suit any circumstance. "You laughed at a joke, RACISM!!!" or "You took my parking space, RACISM!!!" or even "White shoelaces?!?!?! RACISMMMM!!!!

What a perfect way to weaponize an issue that we should be trying to put behind us. Way to keep it alive man.

 

The dictionary merely contains popular definitions, and if the lynch mob says racism is how you love your neighbor, that's what it means. Over half the idiots make up their own definitions for words, and you can argue with both them and the publishers of dictionaries. The idiots are so insane they routinely push for legal recognition of their own definitions, and lobby the fucking publishers, when the only dictionary anybody will buy contains popular definitions. Private ownership of the public dictionary is a Libertarian birthright!

AI is the future, because people are usually clueless, and even little kids know adults are often flat out insane.
