New tariffs on Chinese goods are scheduled for December 15. What are the chances Trump will let them go into effect and risk his beautiful stock market gains over China's bad behavior in Hong Kong?

Where did I say that? I'm just questioning the extent to which Trump is willing to push his "concerns" about Hong Kong's freedom. All show and no go.

Make me. I was responding to your statement "This is one thing you should all be supporting Trump on, China needs to be taken down a notch." You sound as if Trump has taken the initiative on something bold and noble on behalf of Hong Kong. Actually, the bill passed Congress with wide margins in both houses and went to Trump for his signature. He had said in an interview to Fox:"We have to stand with Hong Kong, but I'm also standing with President Xi," Trump said in an interview on the Fox News program Fox and Friends. "He's a friend of mine." He said: "I stand with Hong Kong. I stand with freedom. But we are also in the process of making the largest trade deal in history. And if we could do that, that would be great." Then he decided to sign it (He's in the midst of impeachment proceedings and is running for re-election). In signing, he said: “I signed these bills out of respect for President Xi, China, and the people of Hong Kong. They are being enacted in the hope that leaders and representatives of China and Hong Kong will be able to amicably settle their differences leading to long term peace and prosperity for all.” In other words, like a good politician, he wants waffle and to have his cake and eat it, too. And you say we shouild all support Trump on this because "China needs to be taken down a notch"--with this reluctant slap on the wrist with a wet noodle. And I'm supposed to be committal.

As I've indicated in the past, I think trade wars are generally a bad idea. In this particular case, if Trump reimposed the tariffs, there will be a drastic plunge in the stock market which some analysts think has reached a blowout stage., and could send the economy into a tailspin. That would be bad for Trump--for me, not so much. Which is why I don't expect him to do it. China likes Trump because he's do week.Trump Is Beijing’s Best Asset Although as I've said before, signing the bills was a good thing. Catch him doing something right. But it's largely a symbolic gesture, of little material consequence. Not the big deal you presented it as. Capice?

Trump administration proposals could cause millions to lose food stamps
“SNAP is related to hunger and getting people the nutrition they need,” one food bank representative said. “Food shouldn’t be a luxury.”

Trump's proposed SNAP changes would mean millions lose food stamp access

    excerpt:

"Three proposed rule changes by the Trump administration could cause millions of poor people to lose access to food stamps and decrease the size of the benefit for millions more.

Over the past year, the Department of Agriculture proposed three changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, known as SNAP or food stamps. The new rules create stricter work requirements for program eligibility, cap deductions for utility allowances and “reform” the way 40 states automatically enroll families into SNAP when they receive other forms of federal aid.

A study by the Urban Institute released this week examined the three rules in combination for the first time and found that 3.7 million fewer people would receive SNAP in an average month, 2.2 million households would see their average monthly benefits drop by $127, more than 3 million others would see an average drop of $37 per month, and 982,000 students would lose access to free or reduced lunches."

And that comes from the man who said in public just a few days ago that he was fighting for us?

Trump wants convicted and accused war criminals to campaign for him.
Clint Lorance was sentenced to 19 years in prison for murder for ordering the killing of two unarmed men.
Matthew Golsteyn admitted to killing an unarmed man and then burning his corpse, his trial for murder was scheduled.
Edward Gallagher was acquitted of murder in a questionable trial. He had bragged about killing 80 unarmed civilians, a wounded teenage fighter who was under a doctor's care in a hospital, and photographing himself with the corpse.
Gallagher was turned in by his own Seal team who were so upset at his actions they had removed the firing pin from his sniper rifle.

All three men were pardoned by Trump.
Trump wants them to appear in his rallies.

(Also remember Trump wants to torture people and kill the innocent family members of those we fight.)

Trump might as well find those who tortured war hero John McCain, pardon them, and add them as trophies to his 2020 campaign.

The missing part in the executive branch these days seems to be morality. Fatso took Miller along with him to Florida.

Trump Says He Will 'Take Care of Our Warriors' in Defense of Three Pardons

    excerpt:

"As IJR previously reported, after a report by The Daily Beast suggested that Trump may want the three accused war criminals to join him at 2020 campaign events, a few of them expressed their support for the idea and Trump.

“If asked, of course, Eddie would endorse the president,” Gallagher’s lawyer Tim Parlatore told the Washington Examiner. “There can be no stronger testimonial for an elected official than one of their constituents whose life has been helped significantly by that elected official.”"

Trump claimed he didn't direct his personal attorney Cohen to conduct the Stormy Daniels secret hush money payments. This time it's Giuliani.

Trump says he didn't direct Giuliani's Ukraine efforts. Witnesses say otherwise.
"No, I didn't direct him," Trump said in an interview on Tuesday, appearing to distance himself from his personal lawyer.

Trump says he didn't direct Giuliani's Ukraine efforts. Witnesses say otherwise.

    excerpt:

"President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday that he did not direct his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani to have Ukraine dig up dirt on his political rivals, contradicting testimony from several witnesses in the House impeachment inquiry.

"No, I didn't direct him but he's a warrior, Rudy's a warrior. Rudy went, he possibly saw something,” Trump told former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly in an interview."

Trump once again is defending someone based on his warped sense of what constitutes a warrior.

The downtrodden with the disallusioned faces at the Trump rallies are going to be even more disappointed after they find out what he did to them.

Even so, many will vote for him again. Some will say that the food assistance cuts occurred because Trump's vanity wall wasn't built quickly enough (the migrants stole all the good food). Some of his supporters have already used such a rationalization to try to explain why Trump's promise to bring back coal and steel producing hasn't materialized.

It's amazing how much he lines up with the Biblical antichrist. I'm not a Christian either it's not all fact to me and I still see it. He is everything Jesus is not. He is greedy, selfish, and unkind. Yet he will say is like Jesus and people will follow him over Jesus. The way Evangelicals who mostly voted for him don't see this scares me. Republicans in general will say they are the Christian party and Democrats are godless. That's why they murder babies and let gays ruin marriage. They say Trump has Christian values.

Show me the part in the Bible where Jesus put kids in cages or stole from a charity when he was already a rich man anyway?

Trump voter: I'd believe President over Jesus - CNN Video

It's important to keep in mind the context of who Trump is to them vs. Americans. There are many many examples of Obama getting respect and praise in other countries. He got it it because he was a smart man protecting Democracy. I suspect that is what Trump voters would say of him as well.

To the right wing is Obama a good president? Their reply when confronted with the fact I just gave you usualy made them reply "what do they know they don't live here? It's none of their business". I can also find plenty of pictures that mock Trump. So for proof of success or compassion I don't think it's good enough.

He made a political move that can just easily serve his own interests. Really what he is doing is having a pissing contest with China. The enemy of my enemy is my friend as the old expression goes. He does not care about human rights or anything like that his cult would suggest. It's also likely that since Trump sees himself as the US he saw Hong Kong's prior praise of America as the respect he craves from most Americans. They have flown the US flag for a long time. Trump is also rumored to have hated China since the 80's. He did not get their place in the economy then and he really does not now.

Hong Kong sees more of an ideal in America they are not concerned with the politics. Any American who helps them cares about their issue.Things like tax and abortion don't really matter. Who is to say how they would vote if they lived in a society with the luxury of those things mattering at the moment.

Trump, lawyers won’t participate in upcoming impeachment hearing

Trump, lawyers won’t participate in upcoming impeachment hearing

    excerpt:

"The absence of White House participation follows weeks of vocal protests from the president and Republicans in Congress, who have accused Democrats of blocking their due process rights.

The Judiciary Committee has yet to decide on how many hearings it will have or if it will call fact witnesses.

Nadler, D-N.Y., gave the White House a deadline of 6 p.m. Sunday to tell the committee if they plan to participate in Wednesday's hearing, after inviting the president and his counsel to attend. Nadler also wrote a separate letter to the White House asking them to alert the committee by 5 p.m. Friday about whether they plan to present a defense or participate at all in the committee’s impeachment proceedings."

Like I said, no balls, chicken shit.
Typical bully who runs around shouting and screaming about how no one is fair to him, then when given the chance to stand up for himself he runs away with his tail between his legs.
