2020 Election

IF that's true, it's a factor of 1% to 3% at best. Neither side gets it right because they do so much to counter each other's efforts. Who gets caught in the middle?

The democrat message is "Yea, we know you're having a hard time, so we're going to go after Trump full force. Just hang in there, we know how to make this work"

The republican message has been "We're going to lower your taxes, but we're going to have to take it from somewhere, it's a big balloon you squeeze after all, but we know the rich people will let a few pennies 'trickle down' so you can at least feed your kids (but not on SNAP)"

Trump's most effective message has been "what the hell do you have to lose?" But then, Trump is not a republican. He was a darling of the democrats until 2016.

Yes actually. The game works by watching the debate, whilst discussing it in chat. When one of the candidates makes a cheap shot at another, we all take a shot (or a toke).

We've been doing this on and off since the Bush 2 term.

The "winners" are the ones still in the room by the time the debate ends. Some debates are more rancid than others, so you can never tell how it will end up. The last democrat debate nobody showed up. So I won!

 

He even pretended to be an Anti-war Hippy at one point about 50 years ago.

 

This sounds like fun, but almost a bit extreme for a work night. I think I'm in, but I may not be able to hang.

The next debate's going to be the first one I watch. I like politics, but there were just too many people at the others.

Yea, with such a big group there were not always the kinds of quality cheap shots you'd want. So sometimes it's better to raise the bar. So instead of taking a shot when Bernie berates Warren for her money, wait for Tulsi to slam into Harris about her prison labor record (as examples).

Usually one of us will call it "Cheap shot Biden!!!!" then an emoji of a beer, bong or shot glass. To indicate that Joe managed to score a substantial burn against someone. Really though, Joe takes cheap shots, at Joe!!
