What does turning my location off on phone actually do? Because it's clear that the internet knows where I am by the ads I'm seeing.

 

Location retrieves specific coordinates for your location, so turning it off disables that.

Yeah vpn is good. I set mine to Australia so I can view TV content my sisters buy haha.

 

I just found out recently that turning off an app does not fully stop it from operating you have to then turn off the background data as well completely disable it I use four of the 30 apps my phone came with
