Seems that Battleground states used to be more common until Tim Russert coined the terms Red and Blue State. Much of these states are designed to be concentrated demographics so the ruling class can better control the outcome of elections. If there was ever a southern strategy, then there was definitely a west coast strategy and a northeast strategy as well. With just a select few battleground states, it makes desired election outcomes to become much easier for the puppet masters to get their desired president. Sometimes the masters want a democrat, sometimes a republican. In my lifetime I saw my state go from purple to almost solid blue. There was once a time when a state had favorites in the candidate being from that area, and they were almost always guaranteed to win that state. But since 2000, Gore couldn’t win Tennessee, Romney couldn’t win Massachusetts, Trump couldn’t win New York, and Hillary couldn’t win Arkansas. None of that matters because the media has so much influence on the political demographics of these territories.

This is what it seems like

Not really. The Democratic primaries will always go to the most conservative, establishment Democrat and the general will always go republican

She might draw votes from Republicans and Libertarians--and draw some Russian resources from Trump.

If someone's repeatingly posting slogans like they're at a protest rally in an internet discussion as a reaction to their convo partner with opposite stance that's a good indication they're trolling.

Man, what a weird slice of the electorate she's going after. Pro-Trump Democrats.

They exist. Look at the 9% who are against impeaching. But I guess that's how you try to build a coalition when you're polling at 2%. Cobble together all the weirdos.

  7. A hard, howling, tossing water scene.
Strong tide was washing hero clean.
"How cold!" Weather stings as in anger.
O Silent night shows war ace danger!

The cold waters swashing on in rage.
Redcoats warn slow his hint engage.
When star general's action wish'd "Go!"
He saw his ragged continentals row.

Ah, he stands – sailor crew went going.
And so this general watches rowing.
He hastens – winter again grows cold.
A wet crew gain Hessian stronghold.

    George can't lose war with's hands in;
He's astern – so go alight, crew, and win!

I dont know what her endgame is. I mean when you're at 2% and you're pandering to the 9% you're still not winning anything

So it seems like the "ruling class" designed the battleground states "to be concentrated demographics so the ruling class can better control the outcome of elections". How and when did that happen?" What a bizarre alternative reality you live in!

Biden is only four years older than Trump. Maybe they could share a room in that home. You're saying that Trump v. Gabbard would be a real fight? I don't think so. She's only popular among right wingers who will vote for Trump regardless.

The Yang Gang ranks keep swelling. Yang just overtook Buttigieg in favorability polls and we were endorsed by both Donald Glover and Awkwafina. That's right...Fina and Gambino are part of the #YangGang!!!

    Yeah, no she doesn't.

I heard a conversation today mentioning just that. Some are thinking she might run as a third party candidate.Conventional wisdom is that she would pull votes from the dems, but I heard a viewpoint that said she might pull votes from trump.
The reason she is not seeking reelection is because she is not liked by her constituents.
The more I read, and hear about her, the more I dislike her.

I don't agree with Gabbard's economic policies at all.

But she's the only democrat with principles. She doesn't follow the herd like the rest of the sheep, and will fight for the interest of the people. She's not afraid to call out the DNC leaders like Hillary and Kamala on their horse shit. She speaks out in defence of heroes like Julian Assange and Wikileaks. For that, she has earned my respect.

  18. Not at all. As far as I'm concerned the Clintons are crooks. I've had decades to consider this.

You had other choices. There basically isn't a two party system anymore, at least not like our grandparents had. My biggest beef is with the Republicans since I consider myself a conservative. I don't know what to call the monstrosity of the current Republican party. William F. Buckley was a conservative. George Will is a conservative. P.J. O'Rourke is a conservative. Trump is shit. I'm more Libertarian now than at any point in my life.

  20. Right, it's impossible to latch onto a party these days. They are so polarized that any hint of wanting to compromise is seen as extreme weakness. That's the animal side of our thinking given license. The republicans haven't really changed much as far as I can tell. They're still the party of taking it on the chin and throwing in the towel. And we'll see more of that once again after Trumps terms.

But democrats have changed a LOT. It used to be that you could have a discussion with one as an equal. No more. If you're not a democrat, you're in the KKK. THAT is the overarching message. There is no middle ground anymore. And while the democrats talk a great game when it comes to diversity, sexual equality and whipping up an angry crowd, the democrats can't be beat. Usually.

But, once again, the democratic bull pen is predominantly old, white, heterosexual and firmly establishment.

I think democrats need to face facts; Obama was a fluke. He was gifted into office to "make history". I was more than happy to watch him skip over the Clintons with virtually no effort. Even the media turned on Hillary to get those "history-making" headlines. Regardless, the establishment democrats have delivered a minority president, once, so there's no need to do it again. So get used to people like Warren. I think Bernie's finally going to get some pasture time.

People like Gabbard and Yang are only there as ornaments going forward. Their only hope is to team up and make a viable 3rd party, the money is out there.
