Haven't seen it for over a decade! First time i saw it (as a kid) it blew my mind as I don't think I saw much scifi like it before.

edit: same when I first saw Star wars. And I also recall the only time I saw those 2 extra movies from the 80s set in the Star Wars universe, of which i hardly knew the existence (Ewok adventure and Battle for Endor). The only time they got broadcasted on dutch tv as far as I know, and I caught it. Damn, I felt enriched :p :D

  2. I only love the originals. Prequels, you wanted my love, you should have used puppets. Sorry, that's just the way it is. Sequels, you're unimaginative and bland.

I'm just gonna pretend the original trilogy and anything else I like is all there is.

    That's actually best.

Did you ever saw those other 2 movies from the 80s with ewoks?

  4. No. Too poor.

  5. I always hear bad things about them, but I loved the Ewoks. I even had their playset.

  6. I know what you're saying. How were you too poor and had an Ewok playset. Weird things happen, and that playset was my life.

I was very excited (also afterwards :D), but I was probably less critical than I would be now. Even if a rewatch would likely disappoint I would love to see them again. Only remember snippets.

  8. Funnily enough, Rogue One is probably my favorite Star Wars movie.

Next point: Nowhere in Poe Dameron’s history is he a scoundrel, and yet all of a sudden he’s a former spice runner. His bio reads his parents were resistance fighters
and he grew in the resistance movement and yet suddenly he has a history. That’s pathetic, it’s made-up at the last moment, and no one believes it.

Next: Everyone is asking what Finn was trying to tell Rey (his hatred of her or his undying love). I get it he didn't have the time to finish his sentence so finish it later on.
why introduce something into the narrative if you’re not going to finish it

Next: Nearly every action that Rey took from the time she was first introduced to us until her proclamation that she will adopt the name skywalker,
was emotion driven, and yet that goes against all the teachings of the Jedi.(or to quote Bib Fortuna)

The one thing I will agree with you is they should have tied up the Rey and Finn thing at the end

I was 12 when Return of the Jedi came out.

First movie I went to the cinema that blew me away

Was exactly the right age for it to be forever concreted into my psyche

It will always be that one for me

But nowadays you standard skip a big part of that movie :p
I have favorite parts in a lot of different Star wars movies. I love the part in episode 7 where Rey is still stuck on Jakku, I love certain stuff in episode 2. I love how Coruscant is portrayed in the prequels. I love how Rogue one ties into episode 4. I also love how Luke lives in the last (worst) trilogy.

  13. I directed it.

Nup, can't really work out what that is supposed to say

I don't skip any parts of ROTJ

I do always watch the original though, with that song at the end that's as catchy as hell and doesn't have Hayden dickface Christiansen's force ghost

Huh, I saw you stating it only recently? You skip the middle part if you watch it now. Or was that another episode?

Wouldn't mind watching the original, but there isn't a great hd version of it. And the original trilogy looks so much better on a hd screen in blu ray than on a dvd (i tested). Not talking about the actual changes in the movies, but the clarity.

    The Last Jedi

That 40 mins or so in the middle where Finn goes off to the casino planet with the racing camels, that's a total waste of time, I skip through that

Otherwise it's a great movie and I have watched it about 8 times already

Yes, I stand corrected. But I disagree that its a great movie, partly because of that casino shit indeed. It has some great scenes and ideas but overall it sucks beartits.

I am hesitating going just once :-D I know it will disappoint.

That's another thing about ROS, a lot of the CGI did look pretty friggin awesome. Like better than the previous movies ( except young Leia, her face didn't look right) can't wait to get the 4HD version on my TV at home
