Not sure if that counts for the chinese just as much, but japanese drinking culture in the work environment is fucked. No, they don't drink during work (as far as I know ) but after work and you're supposed to keep going as long as your supervisor/boss. So you see drunk people sleeping everywhere, like, in the park or where ever these (a)social events take place. I saw a documentary where they went drinking in the park. Could be fun on itself but yeah, the retarded social codes...
