They might not let John Bolton testify, but... WASHINGTON — President Trump told his national security adviser in August that he wanted to continue freezing $391 million in security assistance to Ukraine until officials there helped with investigations into Democrats including the Bidens, according to an unpublished manuscript by the former adviser, John R. Bolton.
As they said on NPR an hour ago, until Bolton testifies to this on the senate floor, it doesn't mean a thing. Also, I don't want a free account from the NYT, can you paste the text?
Bolton can expose the Trump Trick - that nothing happened , everything has been a sham , and the Dems are fools . But anyway , his book is to be published in March . The Trick can be seen as embarrassing and and unethical and a joke - and everybody has been avoiding the good laugh everybody needs . Impeachment is serious ritual ... civic ritual .
I must have missed it. But first thought is its probably related to the coronavirus so not sure how serious you are here?
I did notice that Americans can return home from China. And the way I understand it is there are regulations going into place for the medical reasons, and are not permanent or hate based, like the Trump hate of people from Muslim nations. Trump also needs China to buy American goods and farm products to make himself look good on tv or at the rallies in the Midwest. I was waiting for such a statement . because I think most Trump supporters do support travel bans to keep Muslims and people from Shithole countries out. Trump himself used the term "Shithole Countries" on his Twitter account.
They are also preventing Lev Parnas from testifying. A federal judge allowed Parnas to travel from New York to Washington to attend the trial, on the condition he wears an ankle monitor. He arrived at the trial and the Republicans will now not let him into the Gallery, because of the ankle monitor. It's obvious that the Republicans will stop at nothing to protect Trump and the Trump Organized Crime operations.
What a stupid question. He would testify as other witnesses with first hand information do at trials, be subject to cross-examination, and have his credibility assessed by the triers of fact. During and after the House proceedings, Trumpsters screamed "hearsay", "second hand information", and now when a witness appears with first hand information they say "let's not call him. What could he possibly add to the proceedings?"
Yeah, right. And the Republicans are so strenuously resisting his testifying to build suspense for the punch line.
