I see nothing has sunk in, after all the explanation from me. I just told you Congress carried out the Nixon impeachment all the way through, after he resigned. They wanted a national record for future generations. Trump's behavior is proof they did the right thing. In Trump's case, we have unrestrained criminal activity because William Barr and Mitch McConnell would not carry out their patriotic duty. If what I just wrote does not sink in, try reading it a second or third time. And have a pleasant day in Australia.

Ain't that the truth. Criminal Activity by that crowd is covered up real well, huh? Jarod got hundreds of millions from the Muslim nations. The IRS should be looking into that money job.

I just bet that Matt Gaetz will just have an orgasmic reaction when he hears his Messianic idol utter them words of brilliance and genius.

To be fair, you also told us Kentucky is no longer a red state. So we know we can't always go with what you tell.

Kentucky turned Blue in the last election. Bevins was booted out even after Trump campaigned for him. What turned the voters against the Republicans was Bevin's effort to kick off poor people from the Medicaid program. Sometimes austerity measures backfire on the over-zealous Republicans.

"...Nixon gave up the struggle to remain in office, resigning the presidency on August 9, 1974, before the full House could vote on the articles of impeachment. Although arrangements for a final House vote along with a Senate trial were being made at the time, further formal action was rendered unnecessary by his resignation, so the House brought the impeachment process against him to an official close two weeks later."

"Thus, while Nixon himself was not impeached, the impeachment process against him is so far the only one to cause a president's departure from office."

The impeachment case was carried out to the end and filed as a public record. It was carried out in-spite of the fact that he quit. They wanted the record of their findings and their vote.

  12. What am I thinking right..........NOW, Swami?

  13. It's still puzzling in terms of "causing" his departure from office. Nixon went through a LOT of trouble to reach the white house (even more than Frank Underwood). Even with impeachment looming he was making plans for a long slog in house and senate. Then, suddenly, he resigned (after cutting a deal to be pardoned).

So I can't help but wonder who finally got to him. Who flipped that switch? Because up to that moment, Nixon was a ravenous pit bull.

Kentucky is not a blue state.

Gee Wiz I must have overlooked the strength of the Republicans in Kentucky. Anyways, I remember when the Republicans were crying that America was now a Muslim nation, after Obama got elected.

Rachel Maddow had a good program about the Nixon impeachment and resignation. It ran for several nights. It gave the details of how the firm grip of the law got a hold of him. She gave great detail about Spiro Agnew and all the rest of Nixon's coconspirators. If you have time to read, check out Woodward & Bernstein.

    Oi.

The articles of impeachment for Trump in the Trial memorandum, it is listed as "obstruction of congress" which isn't even a thing. They should have listed it as contempt of congress, as was done in the Nixon articles of impeachment. In either case it just comes down to a vote in the house

    Contempt of Congress - Wikipedia

This is a very different thing to obstruction of justice, which in your criminal code is defined as

"Whoever corruptly, or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication influences, obstructs, or impedes or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede the due and proper administration of the law under which any pending proceeding is being had before any department or agency of the United States, or the due and proper exercise of the power of inquiry under which any inquiry or investigation is being had by either House, or any committee of either House or any joint committee of the Congress"

18 U.S. Code ยง 1505 - Obstruction of proceedings before departments, agencies, and committees

Which would require a far higher burden of proof: subject to reasonable doubt and be decided on by a jury that aren't members of the opposing political party

And you dont think forbidding witnesses to testify counts? Technically it's not even a trial at this point. If not having a trial for someone sent to trial isn't obstruction of justice than nothing is
