Facepalm Congress don't have the power to enforce your criminal code, that's why it's obstruction of congress, should have been contempt of congress and not obstruction of justice It just comes down to a vote, so yes, they are perfectly within their rights to deny witnesses, by the same token the Dems took on an impeachment trial they knew full well was never going to get a conviction in the senate, so it was never going to be proper trial to begin with Your DoJ doesn't allow sitting Presidents to be indicted, something perculiar to your country, in the free world anyway And even if they were able to start a criminal trial, far more likely the case would be thrown out. And there is no "abuse of power" in your criminal code, only abuse of office which is a misdemeanour I will say it for the tenth time. The problem is the impeachment process itself Also, "obstruction of congress" in the Trial memorandum is one of the Indications that those that wrote it didn't know what they were doing. Two of them did go to law school, but hadn't practiced in decades, one ran a betting agency once, another was chief of the Orlando Police department, still not a lawyer. Why wasn't it just written by a team of lawyers? That was what was delivered to the senators, if they had any chance of winning some of them over, it should at least sound official
Any Muslim would make a better president than Trump, don't you agree … all the way down there in Australia's Mad Cow district?
You people down under in Australia don't understand that it is our Congress which writes our Federal Criminal Law. The DOJ is supposed to enforce it. That's how Trump became INDIVIDUAL 1 in the New York district case. Cohen went to prison in that case and I say Trump will likely end up likewise.
Double facepalm Yes, your Parliament writes your legislation, but like almost everywhere else in the world, doesn't have the power to enforce it
We know you are white, fluoro Irish decented, reflecting sunlight in the middle of winter, blinding on coming drivers white
Oh yes it does. Our current problem is that the Department of Justice which is tasked with enforcing federal laws is led by a criminal friend and appointee of Trump. The Department of Justice at this point is holding 24 emails which implicate Trump in the Ukraine matter. The House Committees which investigated Trump issued statements today where they said the investigations into Trump's criminal activities will continue, and all the subpoenas which go with it. Trump's camp will have comply with these subpoenas or start to do some serious prison time. The House has the Sergeant At Arms who can go and get law violators from the Executive Branch if he is authorized by Nancy Pelosi. You can also now learn that FBI agents can arrest law breakers if they see fit, including that overweight William Barr. Barr is on thin ice and he knows it. There are thousands of professional public employees with exemplary records who are paying very close attention to what's going on. Additionally, the new polls today show that 51% of Americans want Trump removed and 40% want him to remain. Earlier today, I posted that during the Smerconish poll nearly 90% of the respondents were against Lamar Alexander's excuse for protecting Trump. Early voting starts in September.
Because then it would have been a legal document, and no REAL lawyer is about to create a legal document out of the crap that was presented for impeachment. So trying to slip in their amateurish attempt at legalese is just another way to buy time so they can assemble the latest "bombshell" they plan to levy against Trump. Seriously, I wonder if there's a legal case to be made for him to demand a fresh start with a new term. It will be years before we find out, but 2024 is going to be interesting regardless.
