To be honest, there's practically a whole chapter of White Privilege in sociology. Anyway... any time someone tries to tell you that it's a myth should send a red flag flying in your brain.

Why does this person, in this case writer, feel so threatened by that concept that they are spreading misinformation and discrediting a discipline as reputable as sociology?

Hmm. And Writer is entitled (har har) to his opinion. But let the facts be shown!

No ones bagging on a whole race of people by acknowledging the existence of white privilege. We are talking about white privilege not white people. There is also straight privilege and christian privilege. In America the status quo has privilege. Would you prefer the term "majority privilege?"

That's interesting actually. Iowa gets to vote first in the primaries and has a racial make-up of 90.6% White, 3.4% Black or African-American. White privilege indeed.

Not to mention the fact that they seem to be having an inordinate amount of trouble counting and reporting the results because of confusion over use of a new reporting app and confusion over how many registered voters were at the polling sites, ergo the number of people required for "viability" of each candidate. Twelve other states use caucus systems like this.

I personally think democracies shouldn't rely overly on digital methods with voting and counting. A caucus system is of course the other extreme. Paper ballots and peer review counting seems preferable.

Hell yeah. Paper ballots and representatives of the candidates and the parties present when the tallying is done.

A local mayor or something was chosen by high low ball draw .. it was a tie, so they used that to break it.
