We're not trying to recreate any angst. Or play off of anything that's not real. I think though that some people, especially republicans, but democrats included could care a little more genuinely.

Also, wasn't the whole keep segregation thing mostly in the south? I'm not bagging, just seems unfair to paint us all as racists; though the sixties, according to history, were a tumultuous time. I guess it just seems like it was a southern policy and not a democrat one. You could show me otherwise and I'd believe you though; I don't actually know.

 

Actually segregation was all over the country though not a national policy. Not every state practiced it on an institutional basis, but it was not limited to southern states. School busing was fought intensely in the north, particularly in Massachusetts. It passed in many southern states long before it did in the north.

Also, when I'm speaking of democrats in this particular discussion, I'm not speaking of the voters, just the politicians, pundits and wholly-owned media shills. I don't think voters fully buy into the idea that the US has or is becoming a white supremacist nation. It's just a cheap scare tactic that seems to pay enough dividends to keep dredging up at every election. Along with threats to social security (but only if you vote for a republican). It's slimy politics.
