Infertile one I am demonstrating how the wiring comes out the side of the socket with my index finger pointing towards the area
I couldn't find one of these which is the insert if I could find this I can use the other housing that it came with
Threaded rod is supposed to be a threaded tube... The wire is supposed to go up through the tube. Need to see the rest of this lamp. That socket with the wire coming out the side has been drilled. It also looks to be bakelite. How old is this thing?
it is a tube.... this lamp has a left and right support where the wiring goes up the right hand side comes out the top and goes over to where the socket is which is why it goes into the side of the socket the bottom of the Lamp has nowhere to put a cable or a wire ... It only has a little threaded hole to support the sockets but if the wire goes down through there it will be visible
First of all, wouldn't the switch be in that round hole in the middle? If so, why mess with the lamp sockets at all? Anyways.... This style of socket allows you to use the screwed in tube at the bottom without passing the wire through the bottom. route it out the side using the same bakelite piece. If you insist on replacing the bakelite piece too, you're gonna be in a world of hurt. Yes, they make replacements for the bakelite part... Sold as "lamp restoration parts". Could be costly and it's not going to have that hole in the side. You would have to drill that. If it is actual bakelite plastic the shyt is brittle as hall and easy to break when drilling. Also, many of the replacement ones have a switched 3-way socket, which would not be applicable to that lamp.
You really never seen a real bat? Colonies of them in the middle of Sydney, one of the few animals that havent dissappered due to the urban sprawl. They are just flying rats really afterall
